Always loved Only Fools and Horses, but seen the so many times now they are losing their appeal.

Always remember the first time I watched the episode "Stage Fright" with the singing dustman. Tony Angelino had me "cwying" with laughter. Such a shame we didn't see his performance of "Gween gween gwass" topped off with a medley of wock and woll.

This goes back a LONG way. I was probably only 10 or 11 at the time! There was TV sitcom called "Man About the House".

Well, in it, Mildred (played by the actress Yootha Joyce) the married, but sexually frustrated landlady, frequently made overt sexual advances to Robin (played by Richard O'Sullivan) - the bloke from the upstairs flat - whilst bemoaning her husband's inadequacies.

Well, whilst watching it, something "clicked" with me. I think it was her overt yet unfulfilled sexuality (or was it her negligee and fluffy slippers ha ha), coupled with the ineptitude of her husband, that put the thought of satisfying another man's wife into my head.

Oh and I absolutely love Phoebe Waller-Bridge's work. If only I could find my very own "Fleabag"

Other favourites are:

"Early Doors"

"Father Ted"

"League of Gentlemen"

"Phoenix Nights"

"Bottom" - Genius; pure comedy gold, and worryingly close to home with a lot of us single blokes on here: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x223dm8

Oh yes. Who could forget the inimitable line uttered by Miss Jones as Rigsby sparked up a cigar after their "romantic" dinner - and Rigsby's reply:

Oh Rigsby, I do love a man with a cigar"

Rigsby:

Fawlty Towers

Same, it's testament to it's greatness. Probably watched some episodes 50+ times over the years. And there's so many episodes/ch specials.

Only Fools and Horses is my personal favourite along with Open All Hours. They dont make comedy like that anymore

Yep, if made now, the PC police would stop some of the best comedy ever from being made.

I can't think of a single UK sitcom that I would sit and watch again, there probably is something lurking in the background but I can't think of a single one. Maybe only fools and horses, I keep thinking of rewatching them but I don't.

I have all the Porridge episodes on DVD and never tire of watching them, yes I’m old and sad.
