Just wondering if you can help me convince hubby we need a hot tub in our lives.
The kids would love one but I also think we could get some R&R in it later in the evenings too.
Alternatively if you have any tips on how I might convince him it's a good idea please share
Thanks

I’ve considered it many times - the time it would get used, the cost of running it all year round and the fact that hot tubs are rife with bacteria (chemicals or not!) has so far deterred me .... |

Mmmm, I get you
It would be an inflatable type one.
Completely get the germ thing so would be rather fastidious with the monitoring and chlorine. I don't think I'm going to win this one....x |

I have one and use it regularly. I check the levels daily so no bugs in mine, perfect Ph levels. They do cost a lot to keep heated; I have mine at 40° I have a visitor tomorrow who will share it with me |

Inflatable tubs can be quite expensive to run, the electricity bill can soar. However, this can be outweighed by the cheap cost of buying it in the first place.
We’ve got a proper full size hot tub which costs around £30 a month in electricity. Before we took the plunge and bought our tub we hired an inflatable for a week, that month our electricity bill was £20 higher than it normally was!
The cost of chemicals is fairly cheap. This week we bought a new set of filters, 1kg of chlorine and 1kg of chlorine shock and it cost £45. Filters are replaced annually, chlorine we use 2-3 tubs a year and the chlorine shock lasts a couple of years. Tests strips we tend to buy on eBay as they’re cheaper |

That's where it pays to shop around and consider paying a little more for the American made hotubs.
In the UK they take roughly £4.50 to fill up and get to temperature. An average £1 a day running cost spread over the year.
Maintain your Bromine and PH levels on a daily basis. Shower before use. Use a costume that doesn't go through the washing machine. Remove all body lotions, skin creams, make up and fake tan before getting in.
Give it a monthly clean down, swap the filters round each month and clean the old ones.
Drain and refill every four months.
Job done. |

Hi there
We have a hot tub. And we think it’s wonderful
Without kids it’s even more wonderful
My wife thought it was a waste of money but she can’t get enough of it now. Glass of wine and she’s in
Make sure you do your homework though. They are quite complicated to get right
Good luck
