"Could be worse ...
Could be Corbyn
*monkey ducks behind sofa cushions at the ready* "
Whoever it is, things are fucked in different ways. This is why generally did didn't really matter who won the torie race, you are always wishing for the lesser of two evils.
Boris will fuck things up one way. Somebody else would have fucked it up another way. |

"On the plus side him and trump speak similar and trump respects him could bag us a good deal with the states"
No, Trump has already said that no backstop will mean no deal with the US. They want to protect the GFA, as they view it as their agreement that Ireland and the UK signed. |

Boris is dangerous.
He admitted only the other day he didnt fully understand the backstop and then said but we will break it if its what we want and to move us along
The yanks wont allow the GFA to be broken. Far to many republicans claim irish ancestry for trump to allow it happen amd upset his own voters |

The nice thing about living in Devon & Cornwall is we are politically irrelevant. One day we are going to peer over the wall and say “wtf!! We leave you alone for 5 minutes”
but first we are going to drink some rough cider, run around on the beach and spend days stuck behind caravans, we will rise up, dreckly, but we are eating pasties first, try not to break anything |

This shit just got real. We’re building a wall and Swindon are paying for it
Time for me to embrace my SW roots and head back to your side of the border wall"
We’re body searching at the border now, sorry, rules is rules, just so you know. |

I'm half Devonshire, half Cornish...so I'll be fine then "
Welcome home, please collect your xenophobia and 6 fingered gloves at the gate and ignore the stack of burning caravans on your right |

Problem is ... between you ... you can't agree which is the correct way to have a cream tea ...
I mean ... the cornish are right ... jam first then cream (clotted) |

Actually there is a third way which makes everyone right. Lay out the scones, cream and jam on a plate, get shit-faced on rough cider and the smash your face into the plate when you nod off, wake up: perfect cream tea. |

Rough cider seems to be the common theme... although I could be wrong |

Nooooo!
Cream teas were invented in Tavistock, when monks in the 12th century would stand outside the Abbey handing out small rounds of sweetened bread with jam to passing travellers. Cream came after.
Tavistock is in Devon, so the Devon way - cream then jam - is right.
I couldn't give a shit about politics but this I will argue till the day I die! (And don't get me started on pasties) |

If cream came after ... then it goes on top of the jam ... as thr addition to the original scone and jam ... job done ... this political resolution is easy .. Vote Monkey!!! |

You go girl!! I live but a stones throw from that fair town. As Henry VIII said “if it’s raining anywhere in my kingdom, it’s raining in Tavistock” |

On one hand I worry what the world is coming to when the likes of Boris and Trump get into power, on the other hand, arse holes in power are a bit like the nuclear deterrent. If one country has one, we all want one.
I'd be confident that Boris and Trump have already got some kind of verbal deal going off the record and will have certainly got some kind of theory on the Irish backstop. However if we leave without a deal then the Irish border will be a problem for the EU and the Irish Republic to sort out. Given the difficulty we have had with it, maybe passing the problem to them is a good thing, let them come to us looking for a solution rather than us pleading with them. |

If you think Boris is bad - and he is - just wait until he's given top cabinet posts to intellectual lightweights and proto-fascists like Patel, McVey and Raab.
Boris likes other people to do the hard work for him - but the best Tories available won't work for him. All that's left comes from the very bottom of the barrel.
Things are going to get really bad. |
