Manchester (she/her)

Read this all the time. That women do better than they should here because they wouldn't attract attention in public.

I not getting attention in public. I'm my own person doing my own thing. Free from creepy comments about my underwear while I'm in Boots, clothes while I'm in Sainsbury's, shoes in M&S.

I'm my own person and I fly under the radar. It's fantastic.

I've met most of my play partners in person to be honest. Mostly through the kink scene. I think some people on here are just nasty to say things like that. If they're sleeping with people they wouldn't look twice at in public then that says more about them than the rest of us.

The people who write mean things on Fab about "us women" not standing a chance at being looked at off this site are probably not "Getting Any" themselves and need to realise that an awful lot of the men on Fab are absolute rotters, totally undesirable and quite frankly only fit for the bin.

I not getting attention in public. I'm my own person doing my own thing. Free from creepy comments about my underwear while I'm in Boots, clothes while I'm in Sainsbury's, shoes in M&S.

I'm my own person and I fly under the radar. It's fantastic.

So why comment "

Land of the giants... ;-)

I never used to get attention.. guess I had low self esteem and confidence.

Then I lost 7 stone over a couple of years. I get a lot more attention. That boosted my confidence... I realise I should have been confident in myself before...

Masked and Distant

Perhaps us men are getting more subtle?

Or maybe we are all gentlemen, but as for me, 2nd and 3rd looks would definitely be given for all the ladies saying they never get any.

But then again I am a perv

"I'm thankful of it. Blending in means less hassle. Most people see what they expect to; especially at a distance."

I certainly don't miss the attention I had from strangers when I was young. I was shy and lacked self esteem so it was a nightmare to walk past any group of men in the street, or indeed to walk down a road and put up with guys yelling out from cars. I prefer the anonymity that has come with age, but what I don't like, in fact it pisses me off mightily is when I am actively ignored at work because the girl standing next to me is young and pretty..even though I'm the one serving the rude arsehole!

Don’t tend to get hit on or notice anyone checking me out, but tbh I’m usually with my slim and gorgeous sister, and she attracts the attention. I really am made to feel like the proverbial ugly sister.

Women check me out at festivals though, lol, but my sister doesn’t know I’m bi (family aren’t very tolerant) so can’t act on it

"Even at my age I do still get attention when in public and I do not dress provocatively to attract it. Sometimes it's a nice feeling to be noticed.

The people who write mean things on Fab about "us women" not standing a chance at being looked at off this site are probably not "Getting Any" themselves and need to realise that an awful lot of the men on Fab are absolute rotters, totally undesirable and quite frankly only fit for the bin.

can you imagine if a man said this in the forum about women.

Yet a woman can say it and it doesn't seem to matter.

Sometimes a man does say something similar and gets flamed. There are mass double standards on fab"

Fucking right! and still nobody else pulls her up about it.

I've been shot down, blocked and called names for jokingly saying things in these forums, that are not half as bad.

I've even tried to give someone advice in private chat, only to end up getting slated in the forum and pm.

But a woman can say things like..

"need to realise that an awful lot of the men on Fab are absolute rotters, totally undesirable and quite frankly only fit for the bin. "

And its fine, because it's a female.

This site makes me fucking sick sometimes.

With the greatest of respect if this site makes you "fucking sick" why stay?

I'm not going to get into the "treatment" you've received as that would be bordering on a personal attack and I don't want a ban but let's just leave it that there are two perspectives to that one.

As for the statement made about men you are referring to - from what I have seen I'd say it's pretty accurate - a lot of men do have the wrong idea of the site, and wrong expectations and attitude towards it - you only have to look for the daily threads posted by some women about how they have been treated for evidence of that.

The poster didn't say all men were like that either, just most men, and if that's her experience and also that of others then surely she's entitled to say so?

Now for balance, there are people of all genders and categories who probably fit that bill also, but given the vast majority of users are men, the bad apples amongst them are the ones who stand out more.

If as a man on this site you are decent, respectful, considerate, honest etc then obviously you don't fall into the camp the previous poster highlighted and have nothing to worry about.

I get second glances, but it’s because of my height.

I had a particularly uncomfortable experience in Dublin a few years back where i walked into a bar with friends (they’d gone in ahead of me) and when i walked in the folk there did that thing you see in Westerns...they all stopped and turned and stared at me...felt like ages but was only probably mere seconds..

My friends were like “WTF just happened?!”, and i wanted to curl up and die. Horrible experience.

I don't think that's what anyone has said at all - the OP was about the ridiculous sentiment that appears to be shared by *some* men (usually butt hurt entitled ones) on here who seem to think *some* women "do better than they should here because they wouldn't attract attention in public" and the offshoot of that being that for some, attracting attention in public is not something they are comfortable with.

Nothing at all to do with not wanting to be noticed on here.

I don't see how this is hard.

When I'm volunteering in my community, any attention I get I want to be around that: kind, attentive, community minded, friendly.

When I'm buying coffee, I want politeness and the right coffee.

When I'm sick, I want medical attention.

The fact that in some circumstances I want kinky sexual attention does not mean I want it in all.

Jealous maybe?

Women are often worse to each other than anyone else. Especially when it comes to sex. I think sometimes they internalise a lot of the negative views society has about women enjoying sex and having a lot of it and that results in nastiness towards other women who have a more liberal attitude to sex in order for them to distinguish themselves as "other and different" to them in their minds. I.e. "I love sex but I'm not like those sluts over there!". Sometimes deep down they wish they could shed some of their hang ups and shame around sex too and that even further fuels their dislike of other women who appear to have less inhibitions.

I’ve heard women say that women on here get more attention than they would in “real life”. Are they entitled too?

My post was clearly referring to "*some* men" not women - and whilst personally I don't think I've seen a woman make that kind of comment, I would think if they did it may be for other reasons, as women on here don't tend to have the same entitled attitude that *some* men have.

Nice that you’re deciding why women would say such things.

Your last comment beggars belief "

I'm not deciding a thing for anyone - I talk to enough people and read enough forum posts to have formed a fair and reasoned opinion.

As for my last comment, not sure how it beggars belief? Again if you talk to people and read the forums enough you'll know it's accurate and informed.

Or maybe - just maybe - they believe in what they say?

Unless they're talking about just themselves they have literally no idea how much attention other women get in real life and why do they even care enough to comment on it anyway?"

Sorry, but the basis of this thread seems to be predicated on making assumptions based on things individuals say. You commenting on their comments is slightly ironic don’t you think?

You said you think that they said it “for other reasons”. How do you know that.

Basing your world view on this or any other online forum is no guarantee of either accuracy or being informed.

By using that thing in my head called a brain, by observing and listening and drawing my own conclusions and opinions based on that information, the same way anyone forms them

And you're the one making the assumptions here - did I say that my "world view" was based purely on this or any other forum? However if I were doing so, surely given that the OP was pertinent to this site, surely the knowledge gleaned here would be more than relevant.

I'll be honest and say I'm not entirely sure what point you're trying to make/prove here but getting back to the OP and your opening response to it, which was very much wide of the mark and missed the point completely.

Erm, isn't this post about _naswingdress's feelings about comments made in reference to her as a woman? Hers actually being that she prefers less attention in public.

Exactly, my daughter is 23 also, I wouldn't mind a look or a whistle every now and then even from the builders x storm x

"Don’t tend to get hit on or notice anyone checking me out, but tbh I’m usually with my slim and gorgeous sister, and she attracts the attention. I really am made to feel like the proverbial ugly sister.

Women check me out at festivals though, lol, but my sister doesn’t know I’m bi (family aren’t very tolerant) so can’t act on it

Viv xx

If your sister is more attractive than you she must be a stunner! "

She is!! Haha, I’m so glad she’s not on here or I’d have everyone asking me about her on here as well, haha xx

city

All women will do better on here than in public, simply due to the ratio of men to women on here, its never this ratio in a club etc, and the men on here can be a bit desperate.

Some women will do drastically better, some a lot better, and some only a little better, but all will do better.

I think even the most stunning woman you ever seen would do better on here than in a pub, as in a pub probably not many will approach and if she posts a photo on here then hundreds will approach.

This is why we class ourselves on our profile as a normal everyday couple. In the real world outside of swinging and the clubs that's just what we are, and we get very little looks out in the pubs etc, but swinging we seem to get way more attention, strange one really x

I never approach anybody on here, but I have no problem approaching a women in a pub, shop, cafe, or anywhere as long as you do it with respect, and dont appear to be a creep. It's easy to spot those that want to be left alone, just by eye contact and body language. I have always found most but not all, are happy to chat and make new acquaintance.

There are mass double standards on fab

SMH

My advice to all men on here is to either get themselves a female friend who will show them her messages or get yourselves a female profile..you will get a view of the site that will make you appreciate the women who don't just cut and run!"

I know what you mean there.. But that doesn't make it alright to say things like that.

But some men act desperate on here, I bet they wouldn’t out in a pub. ‘Do better’ is a funny thing to say.

If as a man on this site you are decent, respectful, considerate, honest etc then obviously you don't fall into the camp the previous poster highlighted and have nothing to worry about."

Obviously because I'm giving it a chance. Would it be okay for me to say that? Hell no.
