going to the moon....

Newcastle and Gateshead

gotta love a good survey...

anyway on the 50th anniversary of the moon landing (yes it did happen before you cheeky scamps at the back pipe up!) yougov asked the questions...

would you go to the moon (yes you are guarenteed a safe journey there and back)

only 48% said yes 43% said no.....

help me out there... i thought those figures would be a lot lot higher!

so would you go if offered?

if not, why not?

I might put up the other part of the question for those who said no later... but just wanted to see where this would run

I'm scared of flying. A rocket ship would be worse.

I'd want to go yes but might have a bit of a panic attack about being able to get back. Seeing your home all that way away, even if it was beautiful. Can you pipe some sort of calming agent through a spacesuit, I don't want to be the one that goes mad and breaks the important starting nozzle off the ship so we cant return.

The right place

It would be amazing. Only 24 people have seen the earth in full, it would be amazing to be in such company.

The Chasing the Moon BBC (on iplayer) series is beautifully done.

I’d love to go to space.

Apparently if you play Warframe there's a chance of winning a trip to space, it ends 31st December and all you need to is play.

If you're into space Ninja games it's perfect

I wouldn't bother. It would cost a fortune to go an when you get back half the people you know wouldn't believe you've been anyway.

. I thought the result was 52% thought they were getting the moon ( or was that something else ?? )

It's not very safe.. So no.

If it were.. No, probably not. Not much to do up there really. Zero gravity would be fun, and Earth rising would be beautiful. Z moon walk would be fun.

There's a lot more interesting things I'd rather do down here in Earth.

If this is an unreal hypothetical situation and it was beyond question I would get back safely then yes, I'd absolutely want to go, and I'd manacle a flat-earther to me as well.

I'm also surprised the figure you quote isn't higher.

Not for me. I've done a few long haul flights and there not much fun. The cramped space, no food as such and very limited company for what is basically a view, a beautiful view granted but no. I'll stay here and try and have fun
