Remember the days when there were no iphones, iPads etc to distract you and all you did was live your life and have fun ?
It's a nice feel good thread so simply name something that takes you back to happy carefree days.
Long hot 6 week school summer holidays, out the house at 8am back for a jam sandwich then out until it was to dark to see the football.

Mum would do the same, it was a little plastic thing with a metal back that you put through one of the dial holes and locked.

I honestly do, he's the only one in the street that is miserable and unfortunately I have to walk past his house on the return trip from the pub.

We did that too!! Dial 16 if you had any money, otherwise hit the buttons on the top of the phone 16 times to listen for free...I think it's called the blue code |

The flap at the front of the change hatch chute could be pushed right back and up and then jammed with a match to keep it in place.
Any coins coming out would be caught on the top of the 'trap' and the user would give up as they thought they'd lost their money.
We would return later and collect the ill gotten gains.
Our local box would take a 20 p coin but if you whacked it hard it would return the money but leave the credit.
The local pubs fruit machines mistook a Spanish peseta(100 I think) for a pound coin until the landlord worked out who had been on holiday |
