Does anyone have any tips, or good places to learn from regarding playing a guitar for the first time. Even youtube (which usually makes things simple!) seems to be a little overwhelming. I’m not going to give up after 5 minutes but would like an idea or structure of what to learn first and where to move on to |

OP Learn a few basic chords from YouTube and then try and play along with what you like listening to, but try something straight forward that has a couple of chords. Most importantly keep going. |

Id also suggest doing some finger exercises. You will need to be able to stretch your wrist and hand in ways you havent before. Depends if you want to play rhythm or lead guitar.
Also prepare for the hard skin to develop on your fingertips! |

You can't really beat lessons if you don't know where to start. Talk to the ones you can find and pick the one that sounds best for what you are trying to achieve. Playing the guitar comes in many forms. |

I took up guitar a couple of years ago. Found a teacher via a local music shop. He is great and I’m amazed how much progress can be made ....even without too much practice! |
