Umm.. no.. not that I'm aware of.
He was raised on the Mongolian Steppe. Which is now in Chinese territory, so they're using it as a political tool to promote Nationalism. Much like the Japanese did with Bushido Shogun Warrior Code in order that they weren't gobbled up by Western Superpowers of the time
Khazaks, Turkish, Eastern Europe.. all central Asia try to use this one persons ancestory as a tool in their Nationalist arsenal.
Fact is he died a long time ago. Whether he had green eyes, red hair, pale skin, Chin heritage.. any of that was possible.. he was a child of the Steppe. A region and time of immense difficulty and conflict. Slaves were taken and traded from all over the Eurasian continent. Bloodlines mix.
Nationality, race.. its irrelevant.. history about an incredible person who lived a long time ago. Lessons that should teach the Nations of today.
Only people sho have any right to claim the ownership of his legend are the ones who still share his culture to this day. The poor nomadic cattle herders of the Mongol Steppe. Who call him "Chingis". |

Beijing uni students habe a very convincing presentation claiming all the guys you mention, including the original Genghis were Chinese. Actually to be fair, their criteria for what constitutes Chinese was very broad. Not based on ethnicity but land rights. |

"Land rights" Says it all.
The modern Chinese don't own the Legend of Ghengis Khan, any more than a modern Greek can claim ownership of Spartan Legend. Any more than a modern day Brit can lay claim to Celtic or Viking Legend.
They are people of a different time. Some so far back that we all descend from.
Lessons learnt.

"Wasn't taras bulba about the steppes Hungarian and the poles "
Honestly. I dont know. I know the Mongol Empire covered both those regions at some point. In Ogedais reign.
Steppe people have been a thorn in the side of many an Empire. The Roman's (originals and Byzantium alike), Alexander the Great, The Greeks, The Persians, The Babylonians.. all came up against a United Steppe force of some kind.
The few records that exist about The Mongol Empire come from their own words. Or through that of a couple of Italians and a handful of Islamic scholars, possibly writing under duress.
I've not delved to deeply into Golden Horde or the Illkhanate. More familiar with Genghis, Ogedai and Kublai Khans reigns of power over the majority of the Empire.
I'd love to be able to answer that question one day. |

"Attila tried to the east decided he'd better try conquer the west"
testament to power of Mongol military strength that they took on China first and it took till Kublai to conquer all China. Most technologically advanced civilisation of the era.
China of "then" used to adopt long term strategy to all walks of life. Part of their culture. China of today has adopted the same model.
We.. are a more reactive society. For better, or worse. |

I love WW2. I discovered a Russian documentary about 6 months ago on Facebook called Soviet Storm. It's about the Great Patriotic war. 19 episodes long. You should check it out it's good. |
