Spot the knot

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

I've changed my profile photo to one of my lower leg. I've got a serious muscle knot in my lower leg. When I tense and flex the muscles, you can even see it a little.

Anyone out there with an eye for this sort of thing? Can you spot it?

Brighton - even Hove!

Yes. It’s horribly noticeable. I’d suggest wearing 2 pairs of jeans just to make sure you don’t offend anyone’s sensibilities. It’s knot nice.

I looked.

I can't see it.

Best check with my hands.

It is horrible. It kills. For a week my thigh has felt numb, which concerned me.. as it felt like a pulled muscle, but no pain. A friend of mine offered to give it a rub. Which was lush. Woke up the next day and its now moved to my calf and hurting like it should have done in my thigh. Thigh numbness has gone and a dull pain has taken its place.

Being serious, it looks incredibly painful, if it's moved down from your thigh then it could be worth having it looked at.

I’d say it was to the lower right of the calf in the picture.... but I’m just guessing and your post has lead me to your profile and pictures which are very impressive

Might have fabbed a few x

I dont think I would be happy with it moving about. Being all maternal here, get it looked at by a non fabster. Ie a doc (not that one)

Have you tried a hot bath. If it's that bad I think you need a professional to sort you out

It's only a tight muscle. Yes I've been in the bath. Other than massage I can't see what else can be done. They tear.. they pull.. they heal in time or your body adapts.

I'm full of knots. This one is just persistent.

As someone who frequently suffers from agonising cramps on nights, waking me up in my sleep and taking up to half an hour to get shot of sometimes I can certainly sympathise mate.

Always in the bastard legs too, occasionally thigh and foot, but most often calves I'm afraid. Thing is it's just natural a lot of the time, you do a marathon every day carrying junk as heavy as yourself for 12 hours then understandably just flop and crash down at night?

Daily extreme activity and massive lactic acid build up + Total rest needed and therefore Immobilility = Huge amount of the lactic nonsense in one part of your body and silly painage! Fact of life I'm afraid....

In the middle

Stand on the bottom stair on your tip toes and stretch it out, eat a banana as they contain potassium which helps with cramps
