Some of the female lead vocalists in metal groups have some awesome voices that are just absolutely gorgeous..

So who are your favourite leads in metal bands?

Mine has to be Tarja Turunen and Annette olzon from nightwish

Hubby has a soft spot for Doro Pesche. Not sure it’s her voice or their attributes though

I Evanescence, my absolute favourite song is Bring Me To Life. It must be 15 years since I first heard that song and I love it just as much now as I did the first time I heard it, it's one of the very very few songs that I'll never get bored of listening to.

"metal groups have some awesome voices that are just absolutely gorgeous"

This is the exact problem that I have with female leads in metal bands. There is a lot of "she is so hot" that happens to female metal vocalists. I hate it. It just feels like part of their worth is based on their image. Like fuck that, I want to hear a good vocal talent, and not care about how attractive the woman is. It just feels like it becomes a marketing point.

Simone Pluijmers who used to be in cerebral bore has a killer voice, and to be honest I didn't even know she was female, because any music video she was in, she wore baggy clothing and pulled a cap down to obscure her face. She gives as good as any male death metal vocalist can do

I've seen her live and she must have had a row with someone as she didn't say a word to the crowd or her band. She sang like an angel, did her set, one encore and was gone. Hardly a wave. Didn't even thank anyone. Mightily disappointed.
