There are a few gripes going on tonight. I think I'm a middle of the road fabster so thought I'd share.
The forums can be difficult to get your head around. There are a lot of quick witted intelligent people and it's hard to keep up. However every single person I have reached out to individually has replied and been lovely.
It can smart a bit if you get passed by on a thread or dont get picked in something but the more you join in the better it gets.
Some opinions have pissed me off and I've said so, the same as some I have agreed with.
It's like a smaller version of real life here for me, I know I wont like everyone and they wont all like me but surely the main point of being here is to have a laugh, meet new people, get some support and have some fucking good sex
End of speech |

So basically you're just starting a new clique all of your own?
Can I join? The others won't have me. |

"Spot on OP
I’m learning the ropes and I think a lot of people’s problems are that they don’t want to adapt to the forums. It’s a give and take I guess "
When I came on here I just stuck with it until the roped learnt me.
Adapt? Oh no. |

There and to the left a bit |
Perfectly put OP - I always think of this place as a microcosm of life in general, there will be people I'm drawn to, and people I'm wary of, opinions I agree with and those that I am violently opposed to.
As in life, I respect people's right to an opinion, but will also challenge it if I feel it needs challenging, and will do so respectfully and in a balanced and reasoned way.
I had a conversation with someone yesterday in which we both agreed this place is supposed to be about fun and I think that can get lost in the mix sometimes and perhaps if people held onto that value more, along with showing respect and consideration for others the site would be a lot better for it
So hear hear for everything you have said OP |

"why would it smart if you dont get picked for something. Its a bloody internet forum not real life. "
But it is real people at the other end. It may not be physical but it is very much real life.
The disconnect from people thinking it is not real life is part of the problem why things on the Internet often turn very nasty and petty.
Yeah yeah stick and stones and all that bullshit, but words can be a very VERY powerful thing (good and bad) and people underestimate how much real life the Internet actually is.
Also its called a forum, but it is in fact a community. |

People should say and do what they like within forum rules whether others find it boring or not. To many taking it far to serious |

And what?
How is it not real life? The people involved are very much real, regardless of the shit that the come up with and talk about they are real and the shit hey talk about is part of them.
Just because I'm here and somebody else is miles away?
I know people all around the world I talk to them through the Internet I have friendships and rivalries with them. Just because I can reach out and hug them, or give them a swift smack across the head does not make my conversations or interactions with them and less part of real life as it does with people that I can touch. |
