I've been to the Sealife center and I wouldn't recommend it.
The fish have nowhere to go. They put clown fish in with the blue tang fish because kids like Finding Nemo but they have to keep topping each day because clown fish eat tang fish. They also have a giant turtle which has gone a bit mad due to the captivity. It swims round and round on the same path because it's in such a small tank and can't get out. don't event get me started on the penguins. It basically an Auschwitz for sea life.

Oh now that makes me sad. Admittedly I havnt been in years and there were no penguins  I could organise a penguin breakout perhaps and pop a turtle up my jumper. Scoop out a few seahorses whilst Im at it. They were my fave. |

I've never liked Broad street. Roni Scott's used to be ok but all the bars are the same now. There is a sports bar on Broad Street and that's not too bad.
There beter bars in the city centre and quite a few nice cocktail bars popping up of late. |

It's worth searching the forum for posts about visitors, including people on work trips, getting meets, or not.
So many residents get such little free time, arranging social and sex meets if compatible, can take some time too, meaning other locals may be better suited.
If you are around for a few months, it's probably worth changing your home town settings.
Keep interaction upbeat, keeping moans for friends and therapy etc. |

I wouldn't bother with Broad St, especially in the week. It's just identikit town, full of crappy bars.
Head up Colmore Row and explore round there.
Old Contemptibles to the left or Old Joint Stock to the right, if you're coming from the town hall. There's a few nice bars round there.
If you do end up in Broad St, stick to Brindley Place or follow the canal round to the Distillery, one of my favourite Brum centre pubs, esp in the summer.
