Separate Phone for playtime?

I have a second phone now so that I can give that number out for playtime only, especially for initial contacts etc...
The reason being the other phone is also my work phone, and my bill is paid for by my employer directly.
Hence I feel a bit uncomfortable using it for play.
So far my personal usage has been very low being billy no mate etc...
However, since I started to play in Aug 09, let's say the number of text messages sent and received has shot up significantly.
Anyone else uses a separate phone for playtime? Just wondering, that's all! |

As i only "play" with one fella who is my regular fb, the need for an extra phone doesnt present its self.
Tho i do have another one if it ever did
He often rings me , be it at work or whenever and it doesnt cause any problems.
I find married guys often have two phones |

Question, should I list that number in my profile, or only give it out to potential playmates?
I am inclined to leave it out to stop any Tom, Dick or Harry texting me |

Yeah we have a second phone which is used soley for arranging meets etc.
We once made the mistake of giving our home and my mobile numbers to a guy who we had got to know and 'trusted'
Big mistake ! he was never off the phone, he'd ring the home number then if we ignored him, he'd ring the mobile, then the home again and so on ....
At least with a second phone all you have to do is switch it off and in the event of any problems with phone stalkers etc, just use the credit which you have remaining then get a different SIM card - most airtime providers give them away for free .. problem solved without having to interfere with your proper numbers |

I made the mistake of ringing someone from my home phone without witholding the number first, and he rang me on that phone the other night for a chat on MSN etc...
I was a bit startled by that to be honest, and I shan't make that mistake again! |

I have a PAYG number for initial contact and only give my real number out if and when someone becomes friends.
That way you can "switch off" and only use it as and when it is required.
All good stuff.
And no dont publish it on profile hun, as you would get just anyone having your number. |

One for work – which my family and some proper friends also have.
Another one for everything else…. not a contract phone so if needs be I can just bin it and get another one.
The play phone before this one (well the number) lasted 5 years before I had to change it.... and then I only changed it because it had got a little bit crowded in the contact list lol

yes we use a PAYG number too, and it is the best way, if you got no credit you can just turn off, also discretion is a big must so only give it for emergency contact when a meet is arranged. don't do txt sex....perfer the real thing..lol we always insist on a mobile number from new friends we are meeting. |

I have a work phone and a personal phone. Luckily my personal phone has a block function, only had to use it the once, but it saved me getting endless texts from someone |

I don't want to have to explain to my boss why I have many late night calls when he sees my work phone bills, because I'll probably tell him the truth, and it could embarrass him!
Mind you, I have told him I am moving on with certain part of my life, and he is very happy for me after what I've been through.
He said something in the line of, just be careful and take precautions etc...
Bless him! |
