And why?
I love New York. The hussle, the bussle, the crowds. The spontaneous conversations with total strangers. Makes me feel alive  |

I feel most alive surrounded by nature, away from crowds. A hot beach, ideally with few others on it (big ask I know) and a clean, clear blue sea to cool down in. Or anywhere off the beaten track ... desert, moors, forests ... where you can observe flora and fauna without interruption. It's so calming. I like cities for their facilities and culture but usually only in small doses before I find myself wanting to thump someone for their lack of consideration and selfishness!  |

A and C for me. That bustling vibrancy of a large city, the cosmopolitan cross section of society, the vivacity of so much culture is a thrill and always gives me an adrenaline rush. After a bit I long for the calm of C, in the way LFV so beautifully described. |

I'm a townie through and through, rural living would drive me insane just not having even shops local to me and cities are too damn busy to actually live in. I live in a pretty damn big town and only takes like 20-25 minutes to get to london if I want to so I get the best of both worlds |

.... so long as I try to pretend it doesn't have horrid spiders, and the flies in the Outback were somewhat annoying. But those are minor disadvantages compared to the overall awesomeness. |

An empty beach with the wind in my face, spray from the sea filling the air, sand crunching underfoot and dunes cliffs or caves to provide the perfect backdrop to walk or dance in the surf or just sit and watch clouds drift by.
If not a beach a sleepy hamlet. Cluster of a few ancient homes half hidden in a valley or along a river, water sparkling crystal clear over boulders and stones, watching wildlife all around.
Kingfishers darting in and out of the river bank, small fish in their beak whilst sat in the shade of an overhanging tree its roots drinking deeply, branches gently rocking in a warm summer breeze.
Deer wandering along the river bank, stopping to gaze into my eyes, before drifting away silently into the hills, colours melting into the landscape that fades into a misty living dream....

Rusting iron, peeling paint, bricks and glass.
I love the opportunities, and possibilties of city life.
I love the diversity and the people watching.
And every city is different, every city has its tale to tell.

C, Always. If I'm feeling anxious and unsettled being out in the green makes everything OK again. Sometimes I don't even realise how much I've been struggling until I feel that sense of joy and peace descend over me, just from being in the woods for 10 minutes. It makes my heart sing. I can tolerate small doses of A and B, but I quickly become overwhelmed at the noise and bustle. |

I’m an ‘A’. Although I wouldn’t say I thrive in any of those environments, but having spent the majority of my life in the middle no where, I am loving city life. |

I don't think I've done either yet.
I'm not a big fan of crowded areas, I'm always looking for an escape route, slightly on edge and liable to hit the deck screaming "Gas! Gas! Gas!" If there's a big bang.
I prefer being near nature, but it comes with its drawbacks, driving to nights out or long painful treks/taxis home. Smaller selection of people to fornicate with. More expensive.
In the Middle I guess.
One day I may get to choose. |

Drag me into a bit of a village or a market town or even just a garden centre every once in a while for some people-ing then drop me right back off in the sticks again please. Actually the beach now, or somewhere with a harbour. Thats as bustling as I like |

In my 20's it was a large city.
In my 30's I was in the middle of nowhere but needed a small town.
In my 40's it's on the outskirts of a small city and LOVE it!

I've lived in all 3 at some point in my life, I was happy in each, when I stopped being happy I moved.
I moved alot when I was younger!
I've lived in a small coastal village for 21yrs now.
I finally found my true happy place.
I've got the beach on one side of me, the beautiful South Downs behind me.
I can sit in my garden and listen to the birds singing, or be in the bustle of Brighton in 15 mins
It's a great place to live

I swapped the beach for the hamlet. If only I could find both in the same place. Along with a small natural harbour, lobster boats bobbing on an incoming tide, pots stacked by the harbour wall, and a cafe right on the edge of the ocean, complete with wobbly tables and rickety chairs.

Really does depend on my mood.
London is home so the norm to me.
But love escaping to somewhere new, a town, the countryside, the coast - sometimes on my own or with a select small group.
Big groups aren’t my thing and remind me too much of the tourist groups at home |

Definitely C. And luckily I live in a nice rural area. Pitch black at night and so quiet. Great forests, mountains and beaches all really close by. So many different places to walk the dogs and ride my horse. I live living here only draw back is getting home after a rare night out a taxi costs a fortune. I lived in a city for a while when younger even did a summer in London when I was 16 and while I liked it I'm a country person at heart. |
