Yeah and the eyes, the fact they’re always watching you. |

"Coulrophobia
Recently enjoying a lovely meal outside a Spanish restaurant, a tap on the shoulder , I turned round and it was a clown. Scared the shit out of me! "
Sorry but this made me laugh. Get it though. Sending a kiss to ease that memory... |

Why.... Why even mention dolls!!!!
A friend of mine inherited this horrid doll, dates to the 1950s... It looks like it's had a fucking stroke... None of their siblings wanted it because its horrid.
So anyway, I helped packing the flat up and needless to say this doll was left in the back of the cupboard.
So before we left, I moved it and positioned it in a running position and stood it holding a door... Next day when a sibling who wasn't there that day turned up, they freaked the fuck out and refused to go in until we explained it was a prank and it hadn't moved |

Hell no... I had one doll as a kid (Tiny Tears) and it lived at the bottom of the wardrobe hidden by other stuff
Let’s say I was damned relieved when I found out I was having a boy when pregnant, the thought of girls toys was stressing me out haha |

Yeah but why do we?"
Break it down...
Fear is generally associated with a bad event.
So going to the circus and a strange man with a painted smile on his face gets up in our faces as kids, pushing things at us, it immediately fires up the fight or flight mechanism. Most kids will feel threated and instead of being able to take a step back our parents push us on to see the show and the initial reaction gets compounded and turns into a hatred due to being pushed into watching something that scared us.
Fear leads to hatred |

I don’t hate them. Just need to move away from them ASAP "
Going to try and keep this simple,
The brain has two sides, logic which we are using now and the primal side which is there to pretty much protect us.
Seeing a clown triggers that which means you have to move away. Fight or flight.
This can be overridden by the logic side to conquer the fear/phobia.
Was there a time when you were OK with seeing a clown? |

I actually like clowns, love the whole circus thing.. the clown at the circus in Dalkeith last year was funny as & entertaining for kids. Messing around with giant bubbles and custard pie throwing.. all good fun. I get the horror thing tho as clowns can be scary as well. My gf says any clowns make her think of the Joker in batman! |

I've always found clowns to be funny , but over the last few weeks have become terrified for us all that in the next few days a clown will be elected as leader of the Tory party and our prime minister ,, |

Whilst yes I am a counsellor, psychologist and trained in psychodynamics I do find in interesting to ask about how different people feel different primal emotions.
When you consider as a species we know more about outer space than the anatomy of how our mind works the only way to understand is ask how others experience things. |

I was walking down the street one day minding my own business. Turned the corner and 12ft clown with about size 30 feet was coming towards me. I have bipolar with psycosis and was trying to fight in my head wether i was really seeing it or not. Turns out it was advertising the local fair and its feet where so big it was walking at a snails pace. Shock me up for ages |
