It’s Saturday July 13th, Wembley Stadium, Welcome to Live Aid!
Everyone in our street had this on blasting out their living room windows, what a day it was, did you watch it all or just have it on while you pottered around the house, what was your highlight, Queen and U2 for me. |

I was a Special Constable on duty there - they used as many Specials as they could to keep the costs down and raise more for charity. Was only on duty till late afternoon but it meant I didn't get to see much "live" (although caught up on video the day after) - then had a friend's 21st in the evening so caught snippets of it there. |

Like you said Op Queen performance aint going to be beaten imo but I remember Led Zep in Philly with Phil Collins on drums , Stairway to Heaven

Watched it from beginning to end. Loved every second. Even as a child I felt great pride that U2, an Irish band, were up there. And then Geldof telling people to "give us the f#*!ing money" in his Irish accent. I was in awe.
Outside of that, I remember it now as the first time I saw TV coverage that was focused fully on an international crisis that wasn't Northern Irish politics.
The concert itself was just perfection.
