It’s Saturday July 13th, Wembley Stadium, Welcome to Live Aid!

Everyone in our street had this on blasting out their living room windows, what a day it was, did you watch it all or just have it on while you pottered around the house, what was your highlight, Queen and U2 for me.

There and to the left a bit

I was a Special Constable on duty there - they used as many Specials as they could to keep the costs down and raise more for charity. Was only on duty till late afternoon but it meant I didn't get to see much "live" (although caught up on video the day after) - then had a friend's 21st in the evening so caught snippets of it there.

wolverhampton

I was at work until 6pm so missed most of the afternoon sets.

I did watch all of the Philadelphia gig and really enjoyed Mick Jagger and Tina Turner.

Cork

Watched it from beginning to end. Loved every second. Even as a child I felt great pride that U2, an Irish band, were up there. And then Geldof telling people to "give us the f#*!ing money" in his Irish accent. I was in awe.

Outside of that, I remember it now as the first time I saw TV coverage that was focused fully on an international crisis that wasn't Northern Irish politics.

The concert itself was just perfection.
