This weekend we have tennis, Grand Prix, cricket, darts all on normal television.
It’s like being back in the 80s. I may have to wear my luminous socks and lace glove!!
Other than the music what do you remember best from the 80s? If you’re old enough to remember anything.
I remember my dad getting my mum her first ever microwave, was nearly £400!! And when we brought a tele and returned the old one and top loader vhs, with the remote on a cable, to Radio Rentals |

I remember buying the first CD player and actually getting 'Brothers in Arms' to see what that sounded like through it.
And now, vinyl is on the rise again... I'm glad I kept my blue speckled suit jacket with purple lining.. There will be a time soon when I get to wear it again |

The music. I still have the first CD that I ever bought back in 1988.
The hairstyles. I had naturally dead straight hair, so loved having the spiral perms to make it curly.
Didn’t like the clothes that much though. Shoulder pads and drop waist dresses was my worse. |

The 80s were horrendous yet wonderful
Bad times aplenty but somehow I survived
I love the feeling I get when I hear a song I’d forgotten about , watching Stranger Things now brings it all back
I sound so old |

The 80’s was a decade of firsts and changes for me.
First serious girlfriend
First fuck
First drink
First job
First holiday without my parents
First car
First house
To think I was 14 in 1980!
I liked some of the fashions for men, it seemed so smart even if some of the colours were unusual and it’s probab best that I don’t wear burgundy ever again! |

A friend of mine who lived with her grandma, used her 1920s/30s crimping irons that you heat on a hotplate once. Her grandma was livid when she found out, as she could have burnt off my hair. We both to this day have never forgotten it.
Those were the days when you were young and free, doing stupid things, but got away with it! |
