And like I tried to emphasise...
I am all for police enforcing these rules
But not over zealous state adgents
I watch this country become more and more like the Soviet union and watch everyone just gradually accept it as it gets worse and worse. |

Use adhesive Velcro to fix an actual ashtray.
I'm pretty sure the Internet sells contraptions that extinguish and store butts.

I think £150 is a fair fine for dropping a cigarette butt. This time of year with all the dried grass/s about a discarded cigarette butt could cause a fire. A fire which could potiently kill wildlife and cost a lot of money to put out.
As it wasn't the OP of the original post who got the fine, I don't know why she has got her knickers in a twist about it. |

I didn't get my kickers I a twist at the fine actually! I got annoyed that as usually the usual suspects and yourself made it into something it wasn't and made it personal. I unlike others can have an opinion and respect others without taking the piss! |

cigarette smoking I agree in this weather especially in the dunes surrounding the beach is ludicrous but nobody up here fining anyone, these litter police only appear to be in London at the moment although for a short period I saw them in Weymouth in dorset, I think smoking should be banned anyway but that's too controversial for discussion lol |
