"I do love a good history programme but some of the presenters of said programmes are as enthralling as watching the proverbial paint dry "
Agreed, I do love Neil Oliver he's so cheesy and sincere but funny to watch. |

"It's interesting subject matter poorly presented in my opinion. What's wrong with her eyes? "
I know right.. it's more her presentation style. Very false and a bif amateur, forced even. Trying to be Historys "Nigella" make it sexy and intriguing. She failed.
I never found that stage of history all that interesting. Religious fundamentalists fighting an arrogant King. Theres no side I want to pick. |

I think you're right, she was probably coached to be a certain way and would have been better off just being herself. That's not to detract from the vast knowledge she must have on a very broad subject.
It's not my favourite period in history either but I still find it all fascinating. It's interesting to see how nothing much changes when it comes to manipulation of public opinion. |

I dont doubt her knowledge I'm positive she knows much more than I do. I'd just like her to present it more naturally.
It's like someone in TV gave her a job specifically because of the way she looks, then decided to try make sexy history.
I'm sure my pinup girls Dr Hannah Fry and Dr Alice Robert's have had the same coaching and scripting. Only.. they're a bit better at it

"Yep. Neil Oliver would have been way better for this subject matter - because David Starkey's irritating as fuck.
For the Greek/Roman era, you really need Bettany Hughes/Mary Beard."
Oh yes.. I fancy Bettany Hughes too I've not seen Mary Beard before, but think I may be a bit young for her tastes |

"I thought it was well done , it ws th history of a turbulent political time thst shaped our country "
Boring! Was taught it as a child in school and it was boring then. There are no likeable persons of interest to me. No side I want to align myself to.
This Spain programme though.. Hannibal, Roman's, Carthage, Moors, Christian's, Al Andalus, Alhambra, Cordoba, Imperial Iberia, Franco..
Not overly sexed up, but flowing and interesting.. To me... but.. Yo viva en espana para 10años. |

Better eat your Weetabix then. You'll need your strength for a tribute tour like that! |

I wouldn't have made it out of Tribe! Not if we all got along, not if we were safe and all the hard work from men and women working together meant we all had the time to play, fuck and relax with each other.
Unfortunately I don't think the Steppe was like that.. Hence him losing his status as a Tribal Khans son as a child. The dog eat dog desperation and lawlessness stirred his anger and pushed him into unification through domination mode.
Don't think I have the force of will or courage of my conviction to lead a movement of people to do anything. |
