Quite a few through my job. And I can say (because this one wasn’t through my job) that Bruce Forsyth has to be one of the most arrogant and horrible people I’ve met and it can’t have been just a bad day as I’ve met him twice.
Also I know Victoria Beckham and people have her so wrong. She’s one of the nicest, funniest people I know. It’s all a total show but people just don’t get that! |

Uli Roth of the Scorpions.
Went to see my son at work, he owns a computer shop, and Uli came in to pick up his Laptop, looking thinking 'shit! No it can't be' then he spoke to me about traffic in town 'yeah, it's market day'
He collected his computer, and my son said 'see ya Uli'
Tea spat all over the floor! And a clobber round my son's head for not telling me he was a client.
'Omg Mum, known him ages' |

Robbie Williams after he left Take That, I worked near Stoke and a mate of his was a colleague. Talked about football, he had just brought out a cover of a George Michael song, told him it was 'shit' still asked if I fancied a drink after work with both of them. Turned them down as I was meeting my girlfriend. |

Various members of Madness (although not Suggs) all very nice, particularly Lee Thompson (sax player) who chatted for ages on all sorts of subjects and has done on the several times I've met him.
Roger Moore wanted to know why I got my nickname at the time I met him (on the set of The Spy Who Loved Me) and was lovely.
Dave Wakeling (lead singer of The Beat) is one of the nicest and most genuine people you could meet.
Pat Jennings was awesome
Perry Fenwick (Billy off Eastenders) chatted for ages and was a nice bloke
Struggling to think of any celebrity I've met that has been off to be honest |

Where do I start?
Bryan Ferry. Nice guy, no pretensions.
Bobby Ball. Real diva thought he was a star and throw his weight about.
Billy Connolly. Met him 5 times, really a good guy!
Russ Abbott. True gent and a pleasure to meet.
Tommy Cooper. Met him twice, utterly sloshed both times and a total cretin.
Sue Barker. Lovely lady, unfailingly polite.
Shirley Bassey. A delight to meet in my hotel.
Geoff Capes. Nice gentleman!
Rod Stewart. Good all round Gent.
Barry Mannilow. He was fine but his security team and managers were utter shites to work with.
Jim Davidson. Never saw him sober!
Hale & Pace. Totally different personas off screen, great to deal with.
These are just some of the personalities I've met in 35 years Hotel Management. |

I've met a lot of musicians and cyclists over the years. Billy Bragg and Frank Turner stand out as 2 that have a huge amount of time for their fans. Jim and Les of Carter USM are both friends of mine so I'm biased but you couldn't hope to meet a couple of nicer and surprisingly shy guys. Miles Hunt of the wonder stuff is nothing like his unapproachabLe reputation and incredibly gracious, guitarist Malc Treece on the other hand is at best aloof. The guys from Neds Atomic Dustbin are completely normal. Jim Reid of JaMC called me a cunt and told me to fuck off!
Chris Hoy is lovely as was Bradly Wiggins although he was a lot less famous when I met him. Neither come close to Mark Cavendish though

Lots over the years.
Did a TV show with the late Marti Caine who was one of the nicest women I've ever met.
Bumped into Sir Alex Ferguson and got a photo. I Was only next to him for a few seconds but he was nice enough.
When I worked for Ford I spent hours trying to teach Lenny Bennett how to use the trip computer on his XR4i. I don't think he ever quite got it but he was a funny guy.
An old family friend was also a friend of Les Dawson. One day he needed to go to Les's house but had had a drink or two and I got roped into driving him there in his Jag. Les wasn't best pleased to see him but he was a perfect gentleman to me and his first wife (Meg) was lovely.
Used to bump into Frank Carson regularly and spoke to him from time to time. Problem was you could never have a conversation as he just wouldn't stop cracking gags.
Bobby Ball lived close to an Ex GF of mine and was a regular in the pub that we used. Spoke to him quite a few times and although he was never nasty I always thought he was a bit up his own arse.
Before they were famous Smokie (the band) used to do regular gigs in one of my local pubs. Got to know them quite well for a while. Then they got their break and we didn't see them again.
Going back many years I used to babysit from time to time for my first boss. His next door neighbour was Stan Mortensen (I believe he is still the only player ever to score a hat trick in an FA cup final) He was getting on a bit then but an interesting guy.

Russell Howard - lovely chap, hilarious even just in conversation.
Vernon Kay - was very polite (still can't forgive him for cheating on tess)
Andy Murray - seemed like a nice enough guy.
Ne-yo (the rnb singer) - literally walked into him...he called me "babe". Really lovely man.
Nick Knowles - lovely man! Really chatty but very loud!
Mary Berry - every bit as sweet as you'd expect! She stayed at a hotel in worked in and left the staff a huge cake she'd made during her stay, it was errrrmazen!
Mel C - absolute sweetheart!
Lisa Scott Lee - snooty bitch
Think that's all...
Oh! And Timmy Mallet...he hit my dad with hit mallet, so I stole it and whacked him with it. I was 6 |

I (Bubbles), met Ozzy Osbourne, when he had a wine bar in Brum.
What a fucking star...chatted to us for about fifteen mins, just talking about beer!
I have also met former BNP leader, Nick Griffin. Despite his political persona, he was actually a well spoken, decent chap. Regaled me with how he lost an eye in France, during a house clearance.
Met plenty of footballers, too. Majority were ‘ordinary’...Michael Owen was the most sociable. |

Many years ago I bumped into Bryan Robson in the lift at the Europa Hotel in Belfast. He was booked to do a personal appearance, and I was there on business - and going to meet my MD in the hotel bar. Bryan kindly went along with my cheeky suggestion, and let me introduce him to my boss as if we were old friends. Top bloke. |

I’ve met a lot Premier League Football teams and the England Cricket team through my job.
Nice - Rooney, Milner, James Anderson, Joe Allen, Stuart Broad, Joe Hart, Sir Alex Ferguson.
Awful- Glen Johnson, Rio Ferdinand, Arsene Wegner, Gary Neville
I’ve also met Vanessa Redgrave, Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth and Helen Baxendale all really nice people.
I had a hideous encounter with the journalist Kelvin Mckenzie who I thought was the odious little toad that I’ve ever met in my life. |

A couple I forgot on the previous post.
I did meet Gazza a couple of times when he was recuperating from his cup final injury. He stayed locally for a week or two with Paul Stewart (suppose I should put his name on the list as well) quite often saw him in the pub (who would have guessed?) and he always came over as a decent lad.
Around the same time the late Keith Harris had a night club locally and we chatted quite often, nice guy. Needless to say the club got the nickname "The Duck Club" and when he occasionally did his adult act in there with Orville it was bloody hilarious. |

I think people forget the majority of the ones on TV that do shows etc, not actors, their whole personna is based on the general public liking them. On tv they appear like yr best friend, very likeable, funny, friendly. The sad truth is it's an act.
In reality they're quite obnoxious, full of their own self importance and very arrogant. In my various careers in hospitality I have come across loads and only 2-3 were genuinely like their performing self. |

Oh, yes.
Met Alan Shearer, David Beecham, Sir Alex Ferguson, when I used to referee the England U 15’s & U16’s at Lilleshall.

Didn't realise how short he was and gutted that I missed the moment worrying about spoiling my beer really polite though as you'd find with any rugby fan and nice to see someone of stature at a game, with no entourage or special treatment and just blending in. |

I've met Princess Anne 3 times, with a couple of years gaps between them.
She remembered me and referred to things we spoke about previously. Which impressed me.
She was also in the same coat twice. |

"Quite a few through my job.
I wonder why VB does that. |

Billy Connolly, he was brilliant. He was more interested in us and the guitar we were buying, as we met him in a music shop in Liverpool.
Steve Joughin, he was a right laugh. At the time he could drink like a fish, funny bloke.
David Soul, I met him as he was getting on a plane to the US. He was rushed, but still had time for a quick chat.
Angelina Jolie, was a bit pissed off with us. As she had been waiting for something out of the hold, we took our time apparently.
Sarah Ferguson, we were taking her baggage to her on the ramp. She was very friendly, took the mick out of one of the guys as he had his ear defenders on his head. She claimed he resembled Mickey mouse. |

Seemed to run into Marlon Dingle a bit, years ago, because he lived in my town for a while. He seemed pretty down to earth.
Spoke to a guy called Matt pike at a gig years ago. Most people won't know him, but he's a very influential person in the stoner doom metal scene, being a founding member of two really influencial bands. It was great to sit and talk to him for ten minutes, really easygoing guy |
