I got an electric shock off my straighteners many years ago. An exposed wire. I refused to throw them away. Needless to say they went after that x

I once stuck a screwdriver into an electric fence power unit because the fence had become loose..

Gave it a good poke and nothing happened. Gave it another poke and it blew my socks off.

What do I know about electrics and shit

I used to work in the lighting industry, testing new lights on their efficiency and light output. It was my job to test the light fittings as they came into the lab to see if they work. I remember one I was testing and I think I wired it up wrong as it didnt work. Numpty here forgot that it was still live and managed to shock myself. Buggar me was it uncomfortable.

Once held onto an electric fence (might of done that a few times in my life to be honest).

Have plugged in a Hoover, bang, stood up, sat down, had a think about things.

Don't remember it hurting, but do remember suddenly being in a different part of the room.

At 14 I reconnected an electric fence guarding a grouse farm in Devon, forgetting to take my hand off the wires, I heard the hum of electricity sweep around the circuit and was promptly thrown back six or seven feet much to the laughter of my brother.

That was also the day the voices stopped...

Had a similar thing at my idiot stepson's flat when he moved in. Previous owners had taken the light fittings and I was charged with replacing them. Went to do the bedroom fitting, checked the switch was off, grasped the live wire and fell to the floor in record time. Hadn't realised that there were two light switches in the room. I learned that day to always use my current checker before starting anything remotely risky....
