Loads of good places down here...you've just been going to the wrong ones! "

"Southerns eat cod, us northerners eat haddock
Seriously? So haddock provides the feel good factor? "
No not at all it’s usually how it works. If you go south chippys invariably serve cod unless you request haddock but up on the east coast and north haddock is usually preference. Have you not noticed that? |

No I haven’t as I’m from the Midlands where the chippy will always ask you cod, plaice or haddock? |

"I never eat fish and chips. I preffer the taste of fries in a kebab shop.
You’re such a rebel...
Yes and give me a battered Mars bar instead of fish.
"
Oh but I always have that when I’m in Edinburgh too |

They batter everthing in Scotland. Its the only place where I've seen
big battered black puddings in the chip shops. |

I'm not a Northerner but I find the food better in general up the North.
I like the scraps they pour over the chips up there. You never see it anywhere else. |

"Anstruther fish bar is my favourite
Very happily drive the 90 mins each way and queue for an hour to eat them by the sea. "
I've been there & they were excellent. Not eaten fish & chips for ages, going to have to head to the coast one evening this week I think. |

I once heard that Mushy Peas come from the wine producing regions of France. When it's not grape season, they grow peas. They then make Mushy Peas like their wine, with their barefeet. ....Don't know if it's true , but enjoy your fish |
