No, they're either genuinely defending someone or try to make them feel better...or they're trying to schmooze their way into someone's pants, and seriously can you blame them for doing whatever it takes on this site that's rather difficult for men.

I completely agree with everything you say. You speak a truth that can only come from a woman. On behalf of all us decent guys, I'm sorry if you've had men try and schmooze their way into your pants. That's low and despicable. They make it so difficult for the few genuine, decent, honest, caring, soft-skinned and puppy dog-eyed men on here. Men like me.

I can tell from your reply that you're a genuine, sweet natured man, who no doubt helps old ladies across the road, and volunteers at the puppy rescue centre. Any lady would be indeed fortunate to have you gallop in on your magnificent steed and rescue her from the cads and bounders on this site. Bravo sir, bravo!

White knighting is technically against forum rules, so dont be surprised if you get banned for it.

But don't let that stop you from shouting others down and making them feel little, may just make you feel better about yourself.

White knights can be any gender

Personally I’ll step in if I perceive that an individual is being ganged up on or bullied and it’s there to give them some support and take the flack of some of the comments

Unfortunately there are too many sheep around

White knighting is generally bowing to the whims of someone, even if you disagree, merely due to you wishing to get in their pants. It's like being deep in the friend zone.

I do disagree. I don’t bow to the whims of anyone. In addition, just because you aid someone does not mean we wish to get in their pants, it’s just part of being a normal decent human being. You can be friends with someone without wanting to get in their boxers/knickers

And the two things are often confused on here - usually by those seeking to put someone down in order to belittle them or their opinion in front of others.

As SC said just because someone expresses support for another user, or gives an opposing view to someone else does not necessarily mean they are grandstanding to impress others or indeed try to get into their knickers or boxers but all too often that is the cry when someone does it.

Fab is NOT a competition where the strongest wins and the sooner some people realise that it's possible to just be a decent person without having an ulterior motive the better.

Frankly I couldn’t give a hoot if people think I’m white knighting when I show support for another user in whatever way I deem fit. Whether I would like to meet them or not is irrelevant. It’s simply me expressing supportive behaviour. However I am aware that it is not appropriate for me to get hooked in a drama and play the role of rescuer, just as I wouldn’t wish to play the victim or persecutor either. In that situation I either steer clear or call the game.

I am the poster boy when it comes to lack of empathy or emotional support at times.

Spare me for saying it but women and men aren't equal in their needs, do what you think is right not what the rest of your society thinks is.

I don't know if you guessed but I'm very interested in science subjects, bit of a nerd.

We all have our interests. Mine is history especially Elizabeth I and British archaeology. I wouldn't describe myself as a nerd because I don't own an anorak

The tudors are a popular historical family monarchy, I don't own any anorak either but I know what I am.

Not just the tudors but the whole war of the roses."

There and to the left a bit

"Blimey. I didn't know being a nice guy would be such a bad thing.

But I'll be who I am and sod the consequences. "

And nor should it be CG - the Forum White Knight award was well placed in my opinion and for the right reasons and not the wrong ones

"I find it insulting and chauvinistic of a man to act like any woman is nothing more than equal to him.

Me too, we're waaay more than equal.

Biology made us unequal.

I think if you look up why, it's all to do with immunity as to why there are two sexes in animals. Hence we aren't created equally as evolution designed it so.

Yes that's why I replied as I did

Yes, I'm just expanding on that more scientifically.

I agree with this.

It all depends tbh , someone giving their honest opinion can be seen as a white knight ...so damned if you do ...damned if you don't ...but certainly there's posts and topics where there is a lot of " forum lube " used ok

In the world according to fab. Any display of kindness from a man to well pretty much anybody, is seen as a way to get laid.

Obviously many are, but it's the person receiving genuine kindnesses loss if they assume that's the case every time.
