I've got a pierced nipple and I ran a marathon last year. No issues.
Aren't you wearing a sports bra anyway? My ex had both nipples pierced and never experienced any problems.
In my experience it's just guys that get the dreaded joggers nipple.

Thanks, yes I mean piercing, luckily I won't need to spell it out when I go to have it done!
I wear a sports bra and never had any nipple issues but thought an addition might be sore. I didn't realize it was just men who suffered with joggers nipple. |

Yep, although I've never had it. I think the piercing helps. |

Everyone is different, so it would be hard for anyone to say if you will or won't experience chatting and sore nipples from running.
If you do experience it then I suggest the protective pads and shields that women use with tender nipples from breast feeding or buy reusable nipple pasties that stick on preventing the rub.
In my experience as having large breasts since puberty and nipple piercing at 17 it's usually the breast tissue and skin surrounding that gets sore not the nipples. So a well fitting sports bra that limits each strides impact is worth it. Firm support would prevent rubbing of the nipple or surrounding areas.
Reason men get sore nipples running they don't wear support for their chest, pectoral muscles bouncing (no matter the size). Not that they'd consider wearing a bra. Adhesive pads and large plasters work well to prevent the rub though
Il point out shortly after having it done you'll probably have increased sensation to clothes touching your nipples and it's fun being braless
Just wouldn't recommend it for a work out |
