Since the end of the 90s I had used the username Shaman_UK as my online identity in a variety of chat rooms and then on the the Swinger sites. I’d chosen it because of a long standing interest in Shamanism. I’d been using the forum about 6 months when my 50th birthday arrived. I was greeted with a birthday thread from a friend using my old username and a friend at the time posted “Happy Birthday Old Fart’.
I felt it was time for a change of username to mark my 50th and to let go of the old nickname as it was a bit obscure. I posted a thread to garner ideas and Frisky Mare suggested Witch Doctor. I felt it was not quite right and didn’t take the piss out of my age for being 50.
So from the combination of the Old Fart birthday wish and Witch Doctor I created YeOldeWitchDoc and my strap line of Purveyor of Dodgy Snake Oil were born.
For a variety of reasons the nickname suits me and has enabled me to find plenty of self-deprecating jokes about myself in relation to it over the following 5 years.
I also like it when it’s shortened to Doc. It works for me. |

Neither of us. We operate in a true democracy where we talk and reach agreement although 95% of the time we naturally agree.
We are a relaxed, laid back couple in all expects of life and respect each other and listen too. Therefore we very very rarely disagree and that’s definitely a contributing factor to being together for over 25 years, happy and still very much in love. |

Honestly, I've never had a bad date but I have had a boring one. A couple of months ago I had a first meet with a very nice guy. Conversations leading up to the meet were great. I'm a fan of the classics and two films come to mind. I'd have to say...The movie where two people meet on a ship. He's a handsome playboy, artist and she's a beautiful singer. They quickly become the talk of the ship and after docking in New York realize they've fallen in love with each other. They agree to meet at the Empire State Building but she's hit by a car and is crippled in the accident. |

Honestly it’s so stupid. The people we have cut out our lives are toxic, horrible people. To the point where they have made false claims to the police about us and have been charged for wasting police time, threatening us, and slashing our car tires. And other things that haven’t been brought to police attention. Why on earth would I let my child get to know them?  |
