I've done this before when meeting. I wasnt gonna give out my full address in case I got pig shit flung through my letter box or a pizza delivery I never ordered.
By the same token, they could be tricking you into heading to the local police station, who knows!

I genuinely thought this was a posty fabbing about poor addresses on letters while out on their round til I read a few responses

I think the lesson learned here OP is to do more due diligence before diving off to meet - sorry it happened to you but it could have been avoided with a few simple steps, including insisting on the full address before leaving home, checking the postcode on Google Streetview and even taking more time getting to know the other person before agreeing to meet.
Sadly there are people out there who will mess you around and waste your time out of some twisted sense of fun and as long as people allow them to do so, it will always be the case - all you can do is learn from it and report the profile as a time waster. |

I’m sure it does, but zero, nah, we smell a rat. Besides, why shouldn’t one be content with a postcode only? He’s going into someone’s home. Besides a few messages and maybe a phone call, it’s the only thing left to do, to establish if someone’s reliable whilst simultaneously maintaining one’s anonymity. We provide post code only and can see clearly where we ask them to park, if we get and call and they aren’t there, they won’t be getting anything else! |
