When your sending a PM to someone, what the best way to get their attention? I always try to incorporate something from their profile I have read, but still doesn’t seem to get me know where. |

In the grand scheme of things just being polite is all it takes, if they are attracted to you they'll reply, if they're not then no matter what you write it won't change anything. |

Using something from their profile is one of the best ways or even a comment from there status update, But probably 90% of people on the site will look at your profile/pics before deciding if they will reply |

Haha, those with a sense of humour will respond accordingly, those dur-brains without automatically remove themselves from contacting you thus saving you time and effort with them. |

So far we always respond to a polite message that shows they have read our profile and understood what we are looking for. It certainly doesn't mean we're interested but we can't help that.
Something that shows they have not read our profile or don't give a damn about what we want will either get a snottogram or just be ignored. |

Try a open question not just a yes/no answer or a question they haven't had yet. |

If I send a first message I try to be open, show a genuine interest, maybe pick up on something in their profile text and ask for more info. Occasionally insert some humour. But generally, just be polite.
They'll either find me attractive or won't, and if not, I'm cool with that |

"I get that I’m not going to be everyone taste, but I find sending messages get you no where "
Sending messages 'cold' is, in my experience, the hardest way to initiate a conversation with anyone on here. There are simply too many variables.
Even if they match your criteria and you match theirs, you could get caught in a message landslide, they could have a bad day, your message might be off and not pique interest, they might not be meeting or invested in another potential meet... Its like trying to hit a moving dartboard by throwing a live bee.
There are loads and loads of other far better ways of initiating conversation with people than sending random messages to strangers.
Personally in 6/7 years, I can count on one hand the amount of times I've been successful in starting a conversation with people through messaging off the cuff, and I've met probably over 100 people through other means.

I think it was the threats in your messages that first got me interested
What sealed the deal was the PM where you told me you had a fridge magnet made displaying my profile pic |

Tea"
This is spot on OP - like Tea I barely bother with "cold" messages to random people whose profile I like the look of - personally I find it pretty soulless and clinical - I've sent precisely 6 messages of that type, 5 of which did get a reply, but none of them actually progressed beyond a couple of messages.
There are so many other ways to make the site work for you - as others have said one of those is making sure you have a well written and inviting profile that helps you stand out and isn't all about you and what you want - you've not asked for profile advice so I can't give any, but take a look at yours and be honest with yourself as to whether you'd meet you if you were reading it.
Beyond that, the forums and chat rooms are great ways to get to know people and get yourself known and spark conversations, likewise clubs and socials - the key is finding what approach works best for you - couple that with the right attitude and expectations and it won't guarantee a thing, but will improve your experience of the site. |

I try and be a bit whimsical. However I have found using the line" I'm no spring chicken, but then again neither are you" doesn't result in a response your expecting. |

I tend to message someone commenting on their status or something in their bio. And then add something funny like “I’ll throw in a free pizza” and attach a photo of a pizza
Often get replies from that. And if she’s very special, I’ll even get her the pizza!!!! |

I only reply to guys whose profiles and pictures interest me and where it is clear rhat they have read my profile. I haven't the time or the inclination to reply to those I have no attraction to. I used to reply to everyone but as soon as i i sent a reply they would send another message and i could not keep up with the sheer volume of messages in my in box. Now I explain why i do not reply in my bio and i hope that people do not take my failure to respond to their message personally. I still get frequently called a bitch and a slag when I dont reply though. |

" Well using the profile info is great but put some personality into it to, your profile is your advert is that the best it can be? You lead with your pic that's a good thing but saying that you appeal or you don't, its just luck sometimes that you find someone you click with, socials maybe you can quite often be successful within a social, good luck

You clearly aren't trying hard enough.
Twenty messages a day should do the trick.

Well it would be nice that more like you read the profile first before messaging, ours clearly states we’re not meeting at the moment, yet we are still getting messages asking to meet |

There's no correct way, unfortunately. Everyone wants different things. Just keep it polite and friendly. As you are already doing, inject some knowledge of their profile into your message and hopefully you will get a reply. Above all, don't take it personally or lose heart if you don't get a reply. Women have a lot of messages. Good luck OP
