"Nope, I value my health too much

Is it harmful?
There is good quality evidence that it is."
Yep as Topsy says, far too restrictive, miss out on vital nutrients and isn’t going to save the planet.
Would be an absolute disaster for me, hence why I’m settled at 80-90% animal-based

Back away from the green beans!
I’m still totally carnivore at the moment and it’s working a treat. |

Done correctly it's fine.
At the end of the day we all require the same micro and macro nutrients, amounts depending on our age, activity levels, and muscle+bone mass.
Not vegan, but I have about 4 non-meat days - I feel great in terms of my work and gym performance. Less bloated, hair feels amazingly thick.
You do need to consider it seriously though. Everything is absorbed into our bodies using complimentary nutrients. This is bioavailability. It applies to the non-veggies and vegans here, you really need to consider what you eat with what.

I only eat carnivore and trust me, those of us that do have considered it very carefully form every angle.
A plant based diet would make me very ill, very quickly. |

My sister in law has a plant based diet, she has terminal cancer and it has helped her. She is also vegan. Her son in law is a nutritionist in Australia and advises her on her diet. I tried a bean burger and it gave me terrible wind |

Well fair enough. Are you 100% carnivore though? I mean you must have some greens and whole grains right? |

I'm completely vegan have been for 18 months! I'm not eating very healthy at the moment but usually I do. I ensure I eat things with fortified nutrients and take supplements when needed!!
My bloods are fine the doctors aren't concerned.
I went vegan on the advice of a consultant for my Arthritis! Lots of evidence base behind this too. I get a little pain now but nowhere near as bad as it was two years ago!!
Dairy is actually not designed to be eaten or d*unk by humans it's the breast milk of a cow!! We're the only species who do this.
Yes their are positives and negatives but done correctly I know plenty of vegans in very good health!! |

I’ve not eaten carbs for 11 years, wholegrains are damaging and no, I don’t eat anything unless it comes from an animal. Every marker of health is perfect for me. |

"I'm vegan Orrrrrrr I eat plant based foods.
Very tasty. Try not to buy ready made shite.
Do your own. "
Couldn’t agree more Granny. I cater for vegans, the vast majority are happy to eat factory produced, bastardised foods or cake and a very carb heavy diet.

Does Huel count for this?
I have that for my dinner mon-fri, as it saves me from the dreaded £3 meal deal or McD
(Yes I could make my own sarnies etc, but Huel is quick, have my fruit with it, never have to worry about if it has gone off etc)

No idea, have a look at the ingredients but if you’re disciplined enough to only eat that then choosing healthier options would be easy. |

Not trying to be confrontational at all - just trying to see how and why certain diets seem to work for certain people.
However, how are whole grains damaging? If we were on about refined white flour or rice I'd get it, but whole meal bread for example is meant to be good due to high concentrations of fibre, iron, and protein.
I'm aware that a lot of people in this day and age, veggie, vegan, normal or whatever are consuming too many carbs, but I would like to know how for example, a bowl of porridge is bad? |

OP what are you trying to gain from it?
If you are looking to build muscle you should really start using adding some Amino acids with it as you would have to eat a lot of different foods to get the required Aminos |

This - if you are just looking to keep your heart and brain healthy, I think the new idea is your diet should be broken into thirds.
A third whole grain and fruit based carbs.
A third lean protein - meat, fish, eggs, nuts, pulses.
A third fibrous veggies/greens/herbs. |

Where are you getting the fat your body needs from that?
Fruit is metabolised by the liver, that produces triglycerides which are the beasties that can cause heart disease.
The whole grain/wheat thing was the result of clever marketing and skewed research paid for by the wheat industry.
Check out the Chorleywood process.

I don’t think I accused you of confrontation!
Fibre needs have been invented by those invested in making profit and the iron has been added. Plant based protein isn’t all that bioavailable and every vitamin and mineral humans need can be found in a carnivore based diet.
Most of what your asking is based on knowledge that has been paid for and marketed by companies interested in making profit.

We arent designed to eat meat with every meal. It's a fact. Now argue if you Like but it's a fact we arent carnivores. We are omnivores that being said i dont believe we shouldn't eat meat just not as much as we do |

If you already eat meat and fine with eating it then I don't believe you should give it up. You are not gaining anything by doing so just stick to a balanced diet for the best results |

So there’s no scientific standard then?
What about diabetics who can’t process carbs? |

Carnivores jaws only open up and down they cannot move side to side (to mash up fibres) like an omnivores can plus pur guys are different we have 2 intestines where as carnivores dont and their stomach acid is much stronger and theres quite a few more factors but I cant remember all of them. So basically we are like chimpanzees mainly eating plants but can digest and will if need be other animals |
