My granny is in her 70's but often refers to women her age or younger as "that old wifey" and I wonder if she knows she is one too.
Do you ever actually feel your age? I look at people I went to school with and think wow they're so grown up, does that feeling ever go? |

I feel like a kid most of the time, pretending to play grownups. I think I look my age though. I've got a youngish face with grey hair so it balances out to 37. |

Do you ever have those wow! Moments when you realise it's real and you are in fact an adult? |

Occasionally. I'm divorced, have 2 children and a mortgage. You'd think I'd feel it more often! |

"I feel weird that all my friends are getting married and having kids and I'm still just being a spanner. Yet, I often refer to 'young people'"
That's the thing! Even my friends I think are young like me, like it blows my mind that they're adults too! |

Was out with my 25yr old and single son Friday evening and sat there talking about his recent exploits and thought Here I am at the age of 53 thinking the same as him and as I did at his age, very frustrating if im honest |

I don't know what my age is supposed to feel like. All I know is what I feel like. I know that it's very different to what my current age looked like to me 25 years ago. I'm very happy with my age and my 40s is currently the most exciting and rewarding period of life so far. |

I know what you mean. I sometimes see people I went to school with and think. “Eee you look like a woman” and quite often an old one at that. hah coz I guess that’s not how I see myself. They probably think the same thing

As you get older, you learn to ignore those thoughts |

It’s just a number at the end of the day "
You’re as bad as me. |

"I have a teenager I feel old but people are often shocked I have a teenager and tell me I look in my twenties.... I wish I felt in my twenties "
There is no way I would look at you and think you could have a teenager if you hadn't said so. |

Still feel, in my head, like I'm in my early 20's
I am, of course, reminded of the fact that i'm in my late forties when I try doing some of the things that I used to be able to do with ease when I was much younger.
For example, lately i've found myself making strange noises, like if I bend down to pick something up from the floor.
And I'm not such a fan of crawling around on the floor underneath cars as I used to be. |

I feel like I'm in my early twenties still. I was shocked the other day when I gave my date of birth and it was a sort of 'oh fuck, I'm 30 now. When people talk about young women I'm not in that bracket.'
I might pretend I'm 25 soon anyway. |

I think it depends. I have an 18 year old son and I look at him and think I'm too young for this sometimes.
Other days I pop my pills and look in the mirror and see too many grey hairs and think yep I'm getting old. |

I'm 43...but I think divorce becomes me and have been told I don't look my age which is a lovely compliment to receive. I actually feel younger and happier then I have in years... I hope I'm like wine and will get better with age....Fingers crossed x |

Sometimes I look in the mirror and think I don't look a day over 35, other times I catch a glimpse..... and wonder why the fuck I look like an old hag. Like seriously, one of those Disney ones.
I think my hair has the capability of making me look ancient if it's on a crazy and I've no make up on. Proper crazy old cat lady x100

I'm still around 23 in my head, despite being 37! A lot of my friends from school look a lot older than me now though when I see them on facebook, still having all my hair and being in good shape helps I think! |

I move through phases - I've generally been fortunate to have young looks. But, I can sometimes feel especially ground down, worn out and fatigued, as if 99 years old - or older I know when not to look in the mirror in certain ways or certain aspects of myself: I'm going to have to apply vaseline onto mirrors, to get a romantic perspective, as some of the older movie actors had.
But things come and go - I can be the person running along the street, jumping up and down walls for fun, almost unable to stop myself. Then the next day, ambling along, as if I've just managed to leave crutches behind, at the care home. I didn't appreciate shingles recently
I should be 24, give or take a couple of years. |

That is so me.
I always feel like a daft 20 odd year old in most situations.
Sport has been the constant driving force behind me from a very young age and I grew up with friends and teammates that were all between 5-15 years older than me which has given me this younger guy feeling in everything I do.
Unfortunately, now fast approaching 40 and almost completely retired from playing I’m surrounded by much younger men and need to do some serious maturing this summer for a new role. |
