Quiet village pubs aren't the best places as a big influx of strangers draws attention. The best socials we've been to were in busy pubs where the organiser contacted the landlord and asked if it was OK to reserve an area for a group of friends to socialise who met on an Internet forum. |

Nothing to be sorry about and for a one to one social a quiet pub can be ideal. Although if you're meeting someone who talks very loudly it can be embarrassing  |
