Influx of new forumites

Had anyone noticed that over the last couple of months that there has been a real influx of new people on the forums. I'm not complaining at all, I'm just curious as to why it seems to have happened out of nowhere. Were we written about in the media again or something? |

I think it’s the normal ebb and flow; alongside name changes and couplings all adding to a mix. It’s good to read new people aswell as hang out with mates as are.
No idea if the site has been mentioned or not anywhere. |

I've only been posting on the forum for a couple of weeks, but been on the site for months! It was a Confidence thing for me (the f) I read lots but never posted then I just thought sod it... and jumped on in!

I know when I started two years ago I got a good few "spikey" messages, for daring to be a newbie with an opinion on the forums.
Perhaps people are more welcoming on here now.

Yes it's definitely a quirkier mix than Facebook.. Plus of course the semi anonymous nature helps. Can be very educational at times as well! |

There's always that unfortunately, especially if you suggest a difference of opinion, but it's boring hearing the same same all the time, so don't let it stop you or anyone. Having a different opinion is healthy, it provides an alternative for lurkers and dare I say it encourages some to join in with a different view.
Lot of newbies appear this time each year and many disappear in September. Unis finishing has often been one suggestion. |

Having been here for many years, it's typical that the forum has a fairly non-linear life. New people in adjusts things, potentially creating a more glue-like effect - or the opposite. Lots of positive influx helps as a catalust. catalyst. . Seasonality affects here too. It can tick over, seemingly samey, then new people swarm in. It's standard. |

I've been here for about 13 years, I was called superramfan, for about 9 of those, but as you and other people have said, as the site grows, it's always gonna be infiltrated by new members. That's the nature of a site like this, not everyone posts on the forums though |

I recall a while back where all the regular posters (the clique?) secretly decided to not post anything for 24 hours. For that 24 hours the forum was such a nice place to visit, no drama, no fighting, just a nice place. Just saying. |

I`ve been in & out over the last year or so, but it's all so cliquey I feel like an unwanted interloper most of the time, so I'll sometimes look in, but not necessarily post..
I also don't know how a lot of the regulars have the time to post as much as they do, but I guess that applies to a lot of people on social media of all kinds! |
