I hope this is a safe place to have this discussion and that it doesn’t get personal.
Are the forums be too heavily moderated or not enough?
This is definitely not a dig at those that are moderators. They give of their time and serve us as a community, and I imagine it’s a pretty thankless task. So, a thank you from me.
I think we definitely need moderators. But I generally think that the group should be allowed to self heal more often and intervention by moderators should be for extreme cases.

I like that the forums are moderated. The way some threads go and the sniping and bitching that goes on would be a million times worse, I think that the fact (most) people stop and think before posting is a good thing. |

I haven't had any problems with the moderation here. I think the mods do a good job. That's speaking as somebody had a slapped wrist once.
There was one thread I thought I should report but before I clicked the button it was gone, so we were like-minded on that occasion. |

I think some kind or rulz should be in place as we have all seen what can happen to some threads. It can be a blood bath.
But generally as a rule most threads are harmless banter, good old educated chat and advice
I think the mods we have do do a good job at trying to keep on top of what is going on in here. I’d hate to have to wade through the endless posts looking and reviewing what is being said

I generally think before I type and quite often delete it and don’t post anything. It’s good that the mods are around as I’ve seen some horrible posts
on here  |

I hope you get a sensible and polite discussion and that this is permitted to continue. I know that discussions of this type are often closed down.
I won’t join the discussion and will keep my own opinions on the subject to myself as I don’t fancy time on the naughty step. |
