Annoying microwaves

Who’s got an annoying microwave, the biggest attention seeker in the kitchen ?!

Mine beeps loudly 4 times when it’s done and if I don’t switch it off within seconds it will keep beeping. Most of the time I’m literally waiting for the food, so it doesn’t need to remind me. I’ve been waiting for this microwave to pack up since I got it, so I can get a less annoying one, I’ve had it 15 years now.

The technology that made microwave ovens possible was pioneered at the university of Birmingham.

Hiding in the shadows

I like the beeps

I have teenagers, very prone to starting things then walking away.

I reckon I should have "it's still beeping" on my headstone

Not got a beeper, I have a manual one which does one single ping.

Digital ones I find a bit complicated, I like simplicity.

My microwave is lovely and very well behaved. It emits a beautiful single 'ping' upon completing its heating time *smugface*

Ours is extremely reliable. Has some great features I love, but we got it 20 years ago, so it’s not looking it’s best, but I’ll be sad the day it finally waves farewell

My iron beeps, throws a hissy fit and turns itself off if you don't give it enough attention.

Bloody drama queen

Mine is all, look at me, look at me, look what I cooked for you and I’m all like, yeah well whatever, I’ve got bigger fish to fry over here in the saucepan, but no I have to stop what I’m doing and go over and give the microwave the attention it craves.

I have to disagree with you.

My coffee machine is the most annoying machine in the kitchen, it’s so Dom

Fill beans

Empty grounds

Fill tank

Descale

Normally all at the same time, normally first thing on a morning.

Good job Dan makes that coffee

Microwave beeping is the least of your problems if you have a Bosch washing machine !

The bloody thing beeps continuously every 30 seconds when the cycle ends . I’m sure there must be a way to stop this , but I haven’t found it yet . So whatever you’re doing you have to stop and turn it off or open the door , or you’ll be listening to it beep for ever

No, bit it'll be super choosy as to what it cooks. 'Aldi sausage and mash!?! What do you take me for? I'm a Waitrose machine don't you know!'.

The light inside mine has gone on mine. I can't watch my food being microwaved. My microwave also finds giving the right signals while dogging problematic.

My microwave is very well behaved. Probably pushing 18+ years old now. Not sure it's heating up with all its alleged wattage now (so just do things a little longer) but it has a fairly quiet beep and a nice message across the screen "enjoy your food"

I bought a Panasonic 1300 watt microwave and grill in 1989 . It cost me irl 800 pounds back in the day it’s now 30 years old and works as good as the day it was bought ! New laws on wattage means I’ll never be able to purchase another one , I’ve only ever had to replace the glass turntable once in the 30 yrs . For sure they don’t make stuff like this anymore .
