Good to see a Radio 4 listener here! I'm sad enough to have already worked mine out and categorised them so I have a good spread.

Classical

Tchaikovsky: Violin Concerto in D (Sarah Chang, LSO, Colin Davis)

Brahms: Symphony No. 2 in D (BPO, Herbert von Karajan)

Jazz

Bill Evans: Autumn Leaves (Portrait in Jazz - the stereo take, not the mono one)

Guy Barker: Crazy She Calls Me (What Love Is)

Chroma: True Confessions (Music On The Edge)

Blues:

BB King: How Blue Can You Get (Live at Cook County Jail)

Rock & Pop

Bruce Hornby and The Range: Jack Straw (Deadicated)

Huey Lewis & The News: Couple Days Off (Hard at Play)

Luxury

Fazioli 9' grand piano (a magic one that never goes out of tune and withstands the elements)

Book

JS Bach: The Well-tempered Clavier

There are about a million recordings of The Girl from Ipanema. Which one are you thinking of? The classic Stan Getz one?

Wish I hadn’t read this as I’m trying to focus on work. I’m easily distracted! Thinking now.

There and to the left a bit

Music Tracks:

The Liberty Of Norton Folgate - Madness

Day In The Life - The Beatles

Moving The River - Prefab Sprout

Nite Klub - The Specials

New Born - Muse

Down In The Tube Station At Midnight - The Jam

Tenderness - General Public

Heroes - David Bowie

All tracks that make me sit up, listen, sing and dance any time they appear on my iPod - I do feel bad for not having a classical piece in there which would be either Ride Of The Valkyries (Wagner) or Nimrod (Elgar) but can't pick one of those songs to drop.

Book:

Moby Dick because I keep putting off reading it and being on a desert island with it would mean I finally did.

Luxury Item:

Assuming I'm not allowed my iPod (which would be my first choice) then a guitar which I could teach myself to play

You picked an entire Miles Davis album! I'm not sure that would be allowed. Interesting choice though. I think I'll go and listen to it again. I'm sure I could have a whole conversation with you about him and his music.

It is a horrendous process of whittling down. It has taken me several years to get mine right and there's still one track I keep switching.

Damn! You weren’t supposed to notice that! Okay, first track Générique from the album then.

Although as that’s so short I might switch to So What from Kind of Blue or Koln Concert first track - Keith Jarrett - just to get my money’s worth.

My castaway this week is Estella from Fabswingers. A keen jazz fan, she is rumoured to be named after the Chet Baker classic Stella by Starlight. Some of her finest work has been the photos of her in underwear she has put on her profile and is admired by many. It hasn't all been easy. She battled contraversy when she tried to smuggle an entire Miles Davis album onto her desert island. She pulled through that and continues to go from strength to strength. Estella, welcome to my bedroom, er, the programme.
