Who gives blood? Watching Victoria Derbyshire video clip about gay men giving blood. Terrible journalism but it got me thinking should the three month rule apply to everyone who is sexually active. At the moment this rule only applies to.
Gay men
Sex workers
Those who partake in group sex
But surely those who partake are more aware of their own sexual health x |

I've not met anyone in a few years and have started giving blood. Some of the preclusions are ridiculous. For example a man who has had sex with another man in the last three months cannot give blood, but over three months is ok. I woman who has had sex with a man who has ever had sex with another man cannot. |

I'm a blood donor, have been since my teens.
I've missed sessions over the years due to the usual reasons, had a child, operation, a tattoo, piercing.
I now pick which donor sessions I attend around my SH health checks and an 'all clear' text
I get checked every 3mths without fail, even if I've only been with a regular partner.
If I have met someone new, or been to a club, yes I practise safe sex, but I will get tested within that week.
