Good luck op. I suffer badly with the same malady and understand how crippling it can be. Fingers crossed, the pendulum swings in your favour after today. |

Who cares about the others and what they think? You’re doing this for you.
Don’t forget that you’re recovering from an illness and just as you need to pace yourself after breaking a leg or after surgery, the same applies here. A little bit each day, step by step. If you make it to the front of the building today that’s fine. Tomorrow you go in. The next day you talk to people.
You can do this if you really want to. Good luck |

Good on you! I know how hard it can be to find that motivation. But it's also important to not force yourself when doing so would be unhealthy.
I often use other people as motivation. If I've told someone I'll do something, then it's not just me that I'm letting down if I don't do it; even if they don't care at all, in my mind they'd be disappointed in me.
But that can contribute to depression. If there's a good reason for not going, then adding the feeling that you've let them down will make things worse. The trick that I'm still trying to master is to turn it around from a negative motivation to a positive one. They're expecting you, and will be pleased to see you there. Going in will add something positive to their lives. |

The fact you even made it there is a sign you are on the road to recovery. Work definitely helps so give it another go. You will get over this in time, keep working at it. I went through this a few years ago when lost multiple family members in short space of time on top of other crap I had to deal with, tipped me into first time proper depression. It got a grip of me but I got out of it, so I have sympathy for you and understand. Hugs x |

You can do it Mrs C.I know it's hard going back after you've been off for a while but once you've been back a couple of weeks it will feel like you've never been off.
Good luck and a big hug of support

They had a vacancy for the job I do but being paid for it I was going to apply but decided against it because they probably see me as unreliable and I would have no chance of getting it so I didn’t apply

Ok concentrate on getting your confidence up and fitting back on to the team, then if a paid position there (or elsewhere) comes up later you'll be in a much stronger position to apply.

You didn't let anyone down I'm sure everyone you work with will say the same thing your health comes first and foremost I was told aong time a go when I was the same and it's harsh but true a work place can always replace you but your family can never replace you. Don't push yourself to make everyone else happy concentrate on you and you being healthy and happy |

Good luck
The 1st step back to work is often the hardest, I am sure the people at your voluntary role appreciate your position.
Keep moving forward one step at a time |

Yeah it hurts my last job I spent more time with the people I worked with than my own family was a close knit group or so I thought since leaving they have all slowly deleted me off Facebook and now don't talk to any off them unless we have a chance meeting somewhere then it's just the formal hi how are you routine you learn to move on and do it all again with new work mates as crap as it is |

Two years ago I went back to work after three months off with depression. Everyone was so lovely to me but it was another 6 months before I felt back to myself. Take it slowly don't be afraid to ask for help with workload, look after yourself x |
