"On a set of so called premium tyres on a small hatchback I have only got 15k miles on the front tyres. Is that what you would expect ?
"
Is it your driving style?
I do know that tyres on new cars are a harder compound than replacements. Due to tyre companies not making money in supplying car companies and that if say you had Goodyear on your new car and they lasted a long time you would choose the same brand when needed changing. |

Alot of modern vehicles have traction control, more concerned with handling than tyre wear, trouble with traction control is we think we are a good driver when in fact we are rubbish as the car is constantly compensating. |

Mileage on tyres will also depend to some extent on the routes driven. I used to get much better mileage on them when my daily route was on fairly straight roads/dual carriageways. Now I'm going along windy roads & small villages mostly, and there is definately a difference. Presumably the effects of slower speeds & more steering |

Also front or rear wheel drive?
Powerful engine?
If you're putting a lot of power through the front wheels that are also steering, they're going to wear out much quicker
15k isn't so bad if there's a power and front wheel drive combo |
