Listening to the Isle of Wight festival on the radio, and lord what a racket. Live music sounds awful recorded, no-one can actually sing without the niceties of studio fiddling it seems
I doubt it sounds much better being there, but at least everyone is d*unk as lords and doesnt care.
Cmon Biffy, tune yourself up |

One of the reasons I’m very selective about who I see live. If their ability to hold a tune is about as good Georgie’s bucket’s ability to hold water, I’m out. It’s just too painful for my ears.
Thankfully I’ve seen some fabulous artists and bands that can truly deliver live. |

Or put the golf on."

Before oasis where even oasis I used to watch them at the boardwalk in Manchester. Liam has a real rawness when singing live. All that I remember is him singing I am a walus by the beatles over, an over, an over an over again! |

It is painful- I get a visceral reaction to people singing out of tune - it’s horrible |

I actually prefer studio recorded music. I hate seeing people live and then finding out they can't sing any of their own songs in tune or hit the notes they do in the recorded version. It's like watching a bad Karaoke tribute. |

"You can't beat the atmospheric vibe of good live music "
I was watching a bloke in a pub doing covers and he was brilliant, really enjoyed it. You actually have to be able to sing to stand so intimately with the crowd |

I think they may be a bit worse for wear themselves, either that or they really cant sing live |

"Loads of great live acts around. Try some of the smaller venues, generally find the unsigned acts that invariably are much better, especially live, than most of the signed ones. "
Just waiting for their big break. |

There and to the left a bit |
I think there's an element of detatchment when watching live gigs on TV that leads you to pick up on failings that you wouldn't if you were there and part of the atmosphere in person - have just watched Madness at Isle Of Wight and although for a change Suggs voice wasn't too bad, the number of lyrics he got wrong was awful - contrast that to 24 hours ago when I was watching them play live in person and I was so caught up in the moment I didn't notice similar errors. |

"Liam has a real rawness when singing live. "
Is that another way of saying he's absolutley shite and couldn't hold a tune if it was glued to him?
The only thing that was worse than his voice at his gig was some of the utter arseholes in the audience who, between fights, thought there was nothing wrong at all with pissing up any available surface- including the wall outside the toilets |
