What is the point in blocking someone on your profile but they can still add a comment on a thread! you block people for a purpose not still see them on a thread ???

The threads wouldn't make much sense if everyone you've blocked didn't appear, then what if someone else quotes them and so on.

It would make forum threads incredibly difficult to read though as so many block so many! Ongoing conversations would be like fill in the blanks!

There is no point in blocking. They can easily get a new profile.

It would be really complicated to block people on the forum too... almost everyone is blocked by someone. So nobody would be able to post on the forums

You can't use the forums to contact sone one who has blocked you. You can reply to a comment on any thread though.

Presumably because the messaging thing is kinda private, and you can choose who can or can’t message you etc...

But these are public forums (well, public in the sense that any member is free to contribute).

so block the profile and leave what they post in the forum's.

The whole point is she doesn't want to see their comments on the thread though, so that would be rather pointless

I don’t really understand why not though. I can understand not wanting to receive private messages from someone, but why object to seeing that person’s posts on the forum, that might not even be in reply to, or have anything to do with, the person who blocked them?

How would they know who wrote the post if it says profile blocked or something. He,she,they would have to unblock to find out.

And the way most most people on here block hundreds of people on here it would be a long list.
