We've noticed recently, as have others commented on other threads, that no matter what the topic, some people always manage to turn the OP into a "woe is me" comment.
I'm aware that some find fab a struggle or that finding meets is difficult, it's the same for everyone, so why the need to turn everything into a "what's a meet?" pity party?
I'm not saying that everyone should be happy all the time, nor that this isn't the place to discuss trials, tribulations and issues as many have and do. It's the unerring attempt to turn the happiest of threads into a 'poor me' that I just can't grasp.
Any ideas folks?

I think that's just fab... People take it that your trying to gloat or show off. It will never change. But it makes me sad when people have a dig and make you feel bad when they don't know you as a person or the experiences you have had. |

I don't think it's even that. I think it's more about drawing the "aw, poor you" from people.
It's true that we don't know people on here in an great detail and there are those that are genuinely struggling emotionally, there are others though that seem to take perverse pleasure in twisting a thread negatively. I just wish the latter would cut it out!

I think this unnecessarily harsh to be honest. It does depend on the context but if someone posts something like "when did you last have sex" or the post asks a question about physically or psychological characteristics then people will respond with the truth as they see it...
If people have low self esteem or are self deprecating then that will come out in their response..
It is disengenious to expect them to conform to the happiness of the popular few |

It’s the weather.
Everyone should be happily basking in the warmth of a Summer Sun which makes most folks a bit happier.
Instead we have rain, floods, cool breezes that turn your nipples to bullets.
I think of the Summer dresses i have in my wardrobe and i could weep! What a waste of cleavage displaying opportunities that is.
I’m currently sat in my garden drinking a coffee (to keep me warm!) because i feel it’s Summer. I should be outside, getting that Vitamin D (not the Dick) but between the warmth of the momentary glimpses of the Sun between clouds....it’s actually very chilly!
It just aint fair! And that makes me a wee bit moody.

Yes, it is about context, which is how I framed my OP. Low self esteem and self deprication is a different thing.
It's also not about the popular few forcing conformity it's about the regular and consistent negativity and twisting any topic to it. |

God yes! I'm sick to bloody death of the rain!
Although the plus side of that is that Dotty won't burst into flames when she comes here, the poor wee thing isn't used to the sun coming from Scotland. |
