"Prefabricated houses in the 80s were rather impresive x "
Where i grew up there are still people living in prefabs that were only meant to be emergency housing after being bombed out in the war. If only they built things that last so well now. |

"Very quickly now...been hurt too much. I try not to be cynical but my self protection mode has significantly increased. How about you OP? X"
I peep out between the cracks only. Very trigger happy with my defenses. |

"My walls are always up
It's a measure of the person as to how quickly they come down
Same!"
I think this a good way to be but I find it hard to keep up. So they seem to be at half mast and then rise up quick. |

I tend to be very friendly but rarely disclose anything particularly personal with someone unless I trust them. They go back up if I'm hurt badly by words or actions but that's a makeshift structure. I think once someone's made them go down they tend to stay that way. |

I am pretty open in sharing my experiences in here, because I am amongst people that are potentionally more likely to 'get me'
However, I only say things in here that I'd be happy to repeat if someone asked me directly
It's more of an opening up of shared experience
In 'real life', I am guarded with the majority
I have a small circle of 6 friends. They know me inside out. They know me better than my family.
As for everyone else, it comes slowly
The 6 mock me for it - they say it's a bit like 'Meet the Parents' when Robert De Niro draws the 'Circle of Trust' with the family in it, but Ben Stillers character outside it |

"I was ok when I first came on here but - due to bitter experience - my walls are always up. Does me no favours but better that than being pissed about "
I'm sorry you have had some bad experiences on here. Not everyone is like that (not making it a gender thing) I think you have to be in the right frame of mind for fab... I have very long breaks and have been incredibly hurt on here. But sometimes as hard as it is you have to let go just a tiny bit. X |

That’s a very kind message - you’re clearly a good person. Thank you
I’m no one’s cup of tea on here and that’s fine |

I don’t think mine ever come all the way down for anyone, not even family and friends. I don’t like to bother people with my issues and too many people have taken the piss so I don’t let anyone get that close anymore. |

"How quickly do your walls go up?
"
Mine are never down. I have been too hurt in the past, so now I drop them very reluctantly, and only when it feels OK. |
