So just a general question, if you won the lottery would you give up working completely.
For the record I Jez would give up paid work and volunteer for a charity working with animals.

If it was a ridiculous amount I would quit and fill my time with charity work, if it was enough to pay off the mortgage and I could retire I would still want to work. |

"I can remember when winning a million on the lottery was life changing. These days it won't even buy a house. "
You could still live as you do now but never have to work again though if you didn't go crazy with it |

Depends though. That would barely pay some mortgages off around here. And even on 50 grand a year that would only last 20 years to live the same as you do now. If I was 70 it would but I’d need more than that to give up work now. |

I'd have to give up working because of the heart attack. Winning when I've never bought a ticket would be a helluva shock. |

I didn't win the lottery but came in to a life-changing amount of money and assets left solely to me after my grandparents passed away. I haven't allowed it to change me and still work but I work for myself ...
I get up when I want go to sleep when I want and don't want for anything. The only thing having money truthfully does is save you time spent trying to earning it.
On paper I don't need to work again but I choose to work to set an example for my children. My work ethic had to remain strong for my kids to show then you work hard for what you have got.
Money just makes the journey a little sweeter. Once you have bought one expensive watch and an expensive car it's becomes booring

"I (Luke) certainty wouldn't do my paid job any more. I'd probably play the piano most of the day instead. Hannah would probably continue with her job because she loves it, and I don't blame her. "
I took up the piano drums and acoustic guitar ..... piano is favourite |

I know just what this is. Not had a holiday of more than 3 days in over 35 years and got struck down 2 years ago and not worked a day since. The time offa's nice but now I'm to weak to enjoy it.... |

That's why I'd stay up north in't wildlands much cheaper up here and I dare say nicer. I've been playing that new game on the lottery called "set for life" where the jackpot is £10,000 a month for 30 years. I couldn't go crazy on that but could certainly live a comfortable enough life and indulge my hobbies and interests rather than grinding away at work, and still put enough away for a decent pension. |
