There and to the left a bit

Putting aside Shawshank which is without a doubt probably his finest hour.

I'm giving a nod to two of his films which don't often get mentioned:

Glory - about the first black regiment to fight in the American Civil War, in which he's superb as the Sergeant

The Bucket List - with Jack Nicholson where they play two terminally ill patients who decide to have a few last hurrahs - it's both funny and moving and well worth a watch

On a mooch

Apart from the obvious ones already mentioned, Shawshank and Seven

I enjoyed his Alex Cross movies, Kiss the girls and Along Came a Spider

But Glory is also a great movie about the American Civil War and the lives of a black battalion

Seven - such a great film and he's fantastic in it.

Enjoyed Lucy too, but that's probably more because of Scarlett Johansson in truth

He had a very small part in Brubaker too. Which is a Robert Redford film set in a corrupt prison. Good film although I'm not a Redford fan really.

The Bucket list

Million dollar baby (such a subtle yet prominent role)

I'm not even counting The Shawshank Redemption as that film is in a class of its own.

I like that one where he plays an experienced, gentle, older man who brings comfort and wisdom to the characters around him.

So - Seven, Driving Miss Daisy, The Shawshank Redemption, Deep Impact, Million Dollar Baby, The Lego Movie, Unforgiven, Robin Hood, Lucy...

Did I miss any?

The Bucket List (that I also mentioned upthread) is one of those films that seems to have slipped people by but I urge anyone that hasn't seen it to give it a watch - it's funny, it's emotional and it gets you right in the feels
