I prefer winks ... I check out all the ones that aren't miles away! Why oh why ...

I think some think that it's the maximum chance of getting attention. Maybe, but not in a good way. |

Only ever had one wink responded to and that was from a winking thread on the forum. We did become online friends as a result. But other than that it seems pretty pointless for me. |

They are pretty pointless.
I believe they are meant to express the sender has an interest in you.
Wink back though, and then, nothing. People seem to think if they have winked it should provoke a mail response.
Thanks for the wink, let's chat, or whatever.
We now just delete them, the same as random friend requests. |

We are happy to receive winks but recently when we've winked back that's the end of it.
If we send a wink and we get one back we always follow it up with a message, guess some people just like winking!! |
