I once heard that during the Thatcher years, somebody made up the story of "global warming " and it caught on worldwide.
Something to do with the government's stand on the miners strike. |

Maybe, plus the mountains of evidence to suggest an ever increasing rate of global temperature rises that are almost certainly caused by human activities. |

Just completely ignoring the bit about an increasing rate. Yeah, climate change has always been a thing, but previous occurrences would have taken hundreds of thousands of years plus, so long as there wasnt any cataclysmic events. Currently we are seeing rates of increase which has happened over the past few hundred years, not the thousands of years that the evidence has pointed to in the past.
You know what though, the planet is already irreparably fucked so our only choices are to employ damage limitation or to just not care any more. |

"Is it caused by people or is it just a natural cycle of the earth.?
"
Both.
Climate change happens all the time. Its natural cycle of the earth.
Humans are speeding up the process, instead of it happening at its natural rate, it is happening sooner and more intense. The only thing that has caused such dramatic changes in a shorter time are cataclysmic events.
When somebody like Clarkson goes so far to say something is definitely not right with the earth's natural climate, you have to stop and listen. |

"So Jeremy Clarkson is the new authority on climate change ?
Give me strength "
Authority, no.
The very fact that somebody as stubborn and bullheaded as him that was so set against it being real has actually come to the conclusion that it could be real is the thing to take away from that. |

Well last month was colder this year than last year by 1 degree.
To put it simply no one on the british isles can say if climate change is happening or not, our weather is decided by the movements of the gulf stream.
Arctic winds come in, its cold, they move north its warm. |

"I think as someone who's lived through 4 decades..its fair to say... it's real!! Seasons are not what they used to be"
As someone who has also live through 4 decades I have to disagree. We’ve had warm summers and wet summers, we’ve had cold winters and mild winters. The seasons are no different imo. |

Confusing weather and climate is the first error that people make.
The global climate is changing and average temperatures are increasing. Local weather patterns are NOT changing radically (at the moment) although we are getting more extremes
(for example in the UK we have the same amount of rain as 30 years ago, it now comes in short intense bursts which causes flooding). Events with a return period of 1 in 100 are now 1 in 50 etc.
The 30 second video I posted explains this. We live in a temperate climate on an island. We will experience more droughts, more storms (and intense rainfall) dryer summers. Wetter winters.
Saying it’s always been like this is like being in Pompeii and saying “hey look the mountain is smoking again” |

Oh yeah definately. ..I remember a report on cows being a major contributor to it due to excess methane going into the atmosphere |

They told me the local park area would be a desert, that was forty years ago and it’s still there all green and lush ... lying bastards ..
we are using less coal and the carbon levels have raised so they, straight away blame it on something else ... it’s a career for tree huggers.. and doom and gloom merchants .. but I do agree we are killing the planet in other ways |

UK is still like 70% coal lol.
And UK isn't the only country contributing to the change in climate in UK.
We don't live in closed bubbles.
Something that happens in China can impact Europe. |

Everything will be grand once the polluters pay the carbon tax.
Manufacturers will still produce the same amount of carbon or maybe even more. The only difference is they will pay up for doing it.
The real truth is its all about revenue and tax and fuck all to do with saving the planet.
We are been lied to. They have conned us and most people dont even know it.

The way the climate changes is really fasinating. Here in Derbyshire it's mainly limestone which is made out of dead fish that died millions of years ago when it was under water we now sit along way above sea level the world is constantly changing problem is humans can accelerate this and banning fossil fuel cars will not stop this. |

Well done Millennial. Globing warming is all your generations fault anyway. Consumerism in the 21st century is the worst blight to ever affect this planet, and the kids are most avaricious consumers. Consider the amount of electronic devices that have existed this century purely because of the internet and gaming. The pollution caused by production of these items is horrendous. Parents need to say no to their children a little more often and children need to get out more. |
