Those two girls on the bus are just the tip of the iceberg.
But it's not just homophobic attacks is it? Xenephobic, racist and I'm going use the term reverse racist as well, religious and secterain and gang related.
It's getting closer and closer to the time that we don't need community policing by social workers in uniform, we are getting close to the need for something I never thought this country would need.
We will soon need real and genuine enforcement |

Always chuckle when I see the term reverse racism.
Homophobic attacks occur all the time in the country. Finally this is getting some coverage.
Enforcement is not the issue. Ignorance is the problem. Eliminate the ignorance and these problems disappear.
Education is the solution to the problem. |

It's been reported these were children (all 18 or under) that commited the attack. Let's look to where they are learning that thier actions are ok, there's been no mention of the attackers backgrounds just that they were male and now young males.
Oh and 1 spoke a foreign language so just off that I'm gonna say it's not a gang of British values holding minors and instead foreign immigrant youths from a nation that sees homosexuality as morally wrong. |

Agree it's education.
Who gets to decide the curriculum?
The state. Or parents.
Often it's the parents who rally against schools that attempt to teach diversity and inclusion.
I think the younger the better when minds are less tainted by the current reality of the world.
Just recently. Parents protested against lgbt lessons being taught in schools. So far the council has obtained an injunction against the parents. |

Considering we have MPs in govt that are opposed to Gay relationships, what British Values are you talking about?
We hear homophobic abuse at football games from British fans. We have only recently allowed gay people to marry and Cameron got into trouble with his party for backing it.
This notion that only foreigners do bad things is silly and not based on any facts. |

Parents are the main problem to be honest. No one is born hating anything. They are taught to hate and it is developed at home and nurtured by parents.

Completely agree. My nephew asked his mum at a young age what being gay meant. She gave him an age appropriate answer. He accepted it, understood and moved on to his next question. |

In my career ive dealt with a very diverse mix of people age, race, gender, sexuality, nationality ect.
None of the native British youths stood out as homophobic even if they say "that's gay" to describe something they don't like they are not using the word to mean homosexual... the children that have come from families outside of native British culture are the ones that have outwardly shown hatred for other people's sexual preference. |

14-18 those lads arrested for beating those two women, on a bus. Perfect examples of youth today, is it?

I saw a FB clickbait story that resonated.
A 4 year old kid wanted the same haircut as his best friend so they could look the same, in reality one was white the other black and therefore looked rather different to each other. The point being these kids didn't see colour they just saw a friend. |

I honestly think it’s bread from parents values passed to their kids.
Our parents were accepting of other people’s ways. They taught us the same.
Both of us are (pickle is bi, and not just fab bi)
Our kids are accepting of others.
We’ve never been taught, and we’ve never taught our kids to ostracise a person because of what they are. We never would.
That being said, we believe these people who are phobic against anything have either been brain washed or educated that there behaviour is correct.
This in turn leads to this group of people genuinely believing they are doing the correct thing.
These people are the ones that need education.
Can anybody remember a certain religious group who used to train homosexual people to be heterosexual? They did exist!
Make half was in the military in the early 90’s it was still against service law to be homosexual then and you would be discharged from the service.
Education education is the only way, unfortunately if someone is really hell bent on what they believe it’s very difficult. |

I definitely think tolerance has to come from the home as that is where we learn our initial social values.
My youngest is 11 and at the early stages of puberty and we chat about what he is comfortable with. He is aware of peoples different sexuality and recently asked me can a transgender have their voice changed if they change their sex. I think it's great he is asking me these things as it means he is open to diversity.
I have told him the most important thing he can learn is self acceptance as then if you are happy with yourself you can shrug off people's negativity although obviously that wouldn't help in the situation those girls found themselves in. |

Exactly. Hate was not taught in our home and my father impressed upon treating all people with decency and respect.
Considering what he experienced as a kid and what his parents experienced too, it inspired us.

Just recently. Parents protested against lgbt lessons being taught in schools. So far the council has obtained an injunction against the parents.
Parents are the main problem to be honest. No one is born hating anything. They are taught to hate and it is developed at home and nurtured by parents.
So based on your anecdotal evidence, British kids are not homophobic

"It's been reported these were children (all 18 or under) that commited the attack.
Yup, all aged 15 to 28. Blame the parents and a nanny state. Each generation will get worse. |

They are establishments with the older bigoted generation still in power.. as i said British born and raised YOUTHS are not homophobic in general. They see gay tv presenters every day have done since the 80s we were brought up to accept people's differences and have evolved as a nation that sees homosexuality as normal. The establishments heads will die and be replaced with somebody of a more modern UK value system, or with a racist anti British value activist like sadiq Khan
Sadiq Khan employs LGBTQ people and fights for their rights.
The more you type, the more it becomes clear that you have a lot in common with these "old establishment" types.
We can already tell you have issues with foreigners, immigrants and muslims.
What's next?
No issue with immigrants just the numbers of them...
foreigners are fine i'll drink with an Aussie a Japanese a Brazilian or a Frenchman your nationality means nothing to me.

Have you any REAL knowledge of Sadiq Khan?, you know actual personal knowledge having worked for him ior with him?
Or are you just following the rhetoric of the Tommy Robinsons of this world?
FACT..... Khan has an official office of the Mayor of London, in which his staff amount to 26....19 of which are White.
Khan actually receives more negative press from within the Muslim faith than he gets from Christian faiths because he's a moderate liberal Muslim. He refuses to allow his religion to affect the way he carries out his mayoral duties.
So save your racist claptrap as its both incorrect and unwanted |

Education is the solution to the problem.
The homophobes protesting about education in Birmingham provide the most compelling evidence of just why it so important to bring these issues into the school curriculum.
Why ?
If a teacher tried to teach my daughter to be vegan I'd be pissed off too..."
I'm not sure I understand your point.
This is not sex education and it is not teaching anyone to be anything they are not.
It is simply exploring the different family models that exist.
Some children are brought up by two parents.
Some children are brought up by one parent.
Some children are brought up by the state as their parent.
Some children are brought up by parents of the same sex.
It's called learning.
And hopefully instills the idea that all children are to be valued, not bullied, irrespective of which model they are brought up in. |

I reckon a lot of kids are born into this world for their monetary value rather than because they're wanted.
They are then sat in front of a 60" tv from an early age to keep them quiet. The tv watching then develops into playing violent games.
The only life they know is devoid of understanding, empathy, emotion or guilt. |

Thought id mention it to calm certain people that want to start blaming 'cultures' or 'religions'.
These young guys are just cowards with a stupid gang mentality that was clearly looking to rob and attack anyone that looked like they cant fight back

It is easy to say more education. Education about what? Education that coercing people into sexual acts or assaulting them is wrong? They already know it’s wrong. They’re not aliens from a planet where this is acceptable.
Yes education has it’s place. But at what point do people get proper punishments? See some stories on the news of disgusting acts and people getting 7-10 years in prison. Not enough for certain types of behaviour. |

The human race is it's own worst enemy. We are cruel and nasty to others and cruel to animals and don't care what we do to the planet. We start wars that kill millions and then some people will just kill for the love of it. If aliens did decide to pay a visit they would think no we are not helping this bunch out and just fly past. |

"Always chuckle when I see the term reverse racism.
Homophobic attacks occur all the time in the country. Finally this is getting some coverage.
Enforcement is not the issue. Ignorance is the problem. Eliminate the ignorance and these problems disappear.
Education is the solution to the problem.
Parents are the main problem to be honest. No one is born hating anything. They are taught to hate and it is developed at home and nurtured by parents.
So based on your anecdotal evidence, British kids are not homophobic
I guess Rees-Mogg, Widdecombe, Tory party members that despise Cameron for his support of the community, the church of England and football fans are all foreign
I don't think education is necessarily the answer for people who follow a religious ideology that isn't accepting or inclusive.
Depends, the religion I think you are speaking about was the first major religion that gave women rights.
The Bible and the Torah did not achieve their things and actually set out to subjugate women.
There is also a cultural element to it that confuses the issue.
Why would you assume I'm talking about one religion?
My apologies if I got the wrong end of the stick.
What religions were you referring to?
I wasn't referring to one/any religion in particular.

"The human race is it's own worst enemy. We are cruel and nasty to others and cruel to animals and don't care what we do to the planet. We start wars that kill millions and then some people will just kill for the love of it. If aliens did decide to pay a visit they would think no we are not helping this bunch out and just fly past.
Pulled a heart string here dude
Sorry for the aside... do we just block this guy? Sorry I just don’t see the point in him and as you are not assed with his contributions I assume you have him blocked?

"Those two girls on the bus are just the tip of the iceberg.
We will soon need real and genuine enforcement "
It's attacks full stop. The ism attacks are just the only ones that make the news. |

"There's no such thing as 'reverse racism'.
Racism is racism.
Reverse racism? That not acceptance ? Or possibly supremacy if you’re thinking that way.
Sorry, I don't get your point. What do you mean?
Intelligence"
My question wasn't aimed at you, but thanks for answering on his behalf. |
