There’s an event and website called something similar to the title of the post. It’s initials are KK.
It’s recently had a new website update. Is anyone else annoyed by it? |

"annoyed by what them up dating their website?"
Yeah. It’s gone from something which was not free, but very cheap, and allowed you to put your Kik username on your profile to something that resembles a dating site. You can message people or see who’s liked you without paying a monthly fee which is more than this place is for the entire year.
It’s just cheapened it in my opinion. |

Do you mean you are getting more for your money or less? Sorry, I'm a bit confused. |

Far less. Annoyed is the wrong word to use, but it’s just gone too commercial. Initially you had to pay £20 just to sign up which sorted out any fakes, but now it’s £20 a month just to use it with any functionality.
I was just wondering if anyone on here thought the same?
As much as you see loads of folk moaning about Fab, it’s still the best by a long shot. |

"He says it has been cheapened by having to pay for it now, which is confusing !"
You had to pay for it in the first place to even sign up and you had to send pictures off to be vetted before even being allowed on the site. This meant there were pretty much no fake profiles in my experience.

Someone highlighted this to me so figured I'd join.
OP - totally agree that the update has sort of broken the site. The UX is now appauling and they have turned the online community into a cash generation rather than a support function to their events.
The positive side is you can now communicate for free on the site but only within their guidelines.. So ladies have to initiate the first message. This doesn't surprise given their ethos.
Overall since it changed I've actually managed to connect with a couple of ladies and you can get round the no kik rule with some basic editing to get round the search algorithm.
All in all I tend to find it has more ladies of my type on there than fab but if willing to put effort in here then they are similar |

He means it's gone to a monthly pay scheme to get all features. Similar things like tinder. In that respect I agree in that it's milking the user for more cash for little return in investment |

Perhaps some people like to pay for those benefits. |

"If it's the site/event I think it is OP to be honest their subjective yet exclusive approach to only allowing people *they* deem to be good looking enough to join would annoy me more "
That's how I used to think of it. Recently I've changed my opinion to that of it's a thing that many like and provides something for them. It's not my cuppa but I don't have to let it bother me.
That said... if I were inclined to apply and got rejected, I may feel more strongly on the matter |

Why would it annoy you?
Some events only allow couples to attend.
Some events won't let d*unk groups of men in.
Some events are women only.
They just have their own rules for who they want to attend. |

Does no fakes equal more meets?
A genuine albeit loaded question? |

In short no as it depends on the individuals. It just means less time is wasted on things that can never be realised |

I didn't say it did annoy me - I said it would annoy me more than them changing their site rules.
And there's a great deal of difference between rules that are objective and inclusive of all that fit a particular category (such as those you have listed) and something which is subjective to the opinion of a faceless administrator somewhere.
Does it bother me in the slightest? Not at all, I'd have no interest in somewhere that deals in that kind of exclusivity. |

Meh - I already know where my application would end up if I were bothered enough to apply - I'd be at Debasing Dogs down the road |

Being attractive/ young/ whatever their criteria is, is just the category for their event. It's not different to being part of a couple or female or whatever else. |

"I'm just annoyed that it's called killing kittens. It just sounds wrong.
What did kittens do to deserve that? They're so fluffy and cute."
Apparently every time a woman masturbates a kitten dies. |

"We signed up as fancied going to some of the parties but have never got around to it, haven't logged on in months but if it costs that much now I probably won't bother."
You probably shouldn't admit they signed you up. People who aren't allowed to go will get upset.

It's very different as it's subjective not objective - their criteria is "attractive" you have to submit a pic and *they* decide if you measure up or not - which is a world of difference between saying you need to be a couple or a certain age or sexuality to attend which are all objective things.
Like I said doesn't bother me in the slightest, just have no interest in that kind of exclusivity. |
