I love York. The shopping is amazing. If the weather is nice meander through the market near the shambles and you will come across a street food area and outside bar. The food is delicious. So many museums to explore. Walk the city walls. Also Harrogate is only about 40 mins away, worth going for the Turkish baths |

If you look hard enough around York you might spot Hannah.
I recommend a guided tour of the minster. The history is very interesting. Look for the clock donated by the Greenwich observatory.
The Jorvik Centre is good and book online or by phone to avoid the queues.
The Shambles is good for Harry Potter fans.
The National Railway Museum is very impressive.
Go for tea at Betty's.
Just wander around. It's a cool place. |

I have lived in York all my life and it's very popular with the tourist. A walk around the city on the Bar walls is a must. National Railway museum if u like your trains. ( Free too which is a bonus). Dungeons, Jorvik Viking centre and a walk down the Shambles ( old cobbled street ). Finish off with an evening boat cruise down the river Ouse. |
