I remembered something today, you know when you get a slack minute and your mind wanders?
Sat back smoking a cigarette, my first in a year or more (vape and cigars for me now)
I once saw a list of names, units, decorations on a memorial.
It said the guys name, his decoration, phostumous. Then under it, it said served as and another name. This was a British soldier in the British army I know the French and Spanish foreign legions happily signed you on with a false name.
I wondered at the time and I'm wondering now, was he illegible to serve? How and why?
Then why use his real name?
Makes me wonder now |
