Writing this now as tomorrow I may well be a little...distilled.

What's your favourite at the moment? Do you get from anywhere interesting?

I have three arriving tomorrow - all half price from Ocado. Be rude not too...

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Is that why there are gin displays in at least two supermarkets?

I only have gin if it's in particular cocktails.

Chams or Socials

I received quite a few bottles for my birthday that remain untested. There’s a chilli one in there I think. My current favourite is still Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz

Rhubarb and ginger gin, if mixed with Lucozade tastes like rhubarb and custard sweeties

After two of my "specials", you won't be able to feel your face, let alone it!

There are so many types and flavours now, sure there is something there for you. Fave summer drink currently is watermelon gin that's been in the freezer, with lemonade. Very refreshing and doesn't taste alcoholic. Least till you try and stand.

Whitley neill raspberry is Lacey’s gin of choice currently and I just pinch whatever she’s having later on when I’ve had enough lager

My favourite is still La Republica, only available from craft gin club. I got an email from them last week saying due to popular demand, they’ve imported more stock. My bottle arrived a couple of days ago

I noticed that the non-alcoholic, very expensive, Seedlip 'gin' was on offer.

I can't quite get over that it is basically cordial. Alright, cordial with unusual botanicals.

I know! I can't quite get my head round and feel I must be missing something (other than the alcohol!). Most "craft" gin is actually made by someone buying a base alcohol from a wholesaler, and adding botanicals to flavour it. So are they adding it to water...?

I think they are just adding water and reducing it down with sugar to make a cordial.

Gin is just flavoured vodka.

Nah! Really? Well if I ever needed an excuse to try all the different bottles so beautifully standing there in my local bar... Yes to celebrating National Gin Day
